What is the average cost one would spend on flowers for a wedding? (say, 200 people)?

its for a dating and relationships project. i have to create a full wedding portfolio wth costs and everything and i dont know/cant find the cost for all flowers for a wedding....

anyone?

thanks!

What is the average cost one would spend on flowers for a wedding? (say, 200 people)?
200 people, you have to consider the number of tables you have. If it's rounds, you'll probably have 18-20, depending on if they seat ten people. Most do, so I would count 10 people. Centerpieces are probably about $75-$200 a piece on average.

How many people are in the bridal party? Add about $25 for each boutonniere and about $50-100 for each bridesmaids' bouquet. Add about $200-$300 for the bridal bouquet.

Extras might be decorations for the reception hall, church and cake. Maybe add about $500-700.
Reply:5000 avg probably i know my cousin spent 11000 on her flowers for a wedding of about 300
Reply:It all depends on your budget.... www.weddingsolutions.com www.bedbathandbeyond.com and www.theknot.com

all have free budget calculators... you put in how much you want to spend total and how many guests you are planning to have it comes up with how much you should be spending for all categories, including flowers :)

good luck... congratulations.

Reply:you can go crazy with the costs, or you can find far less expensive alternatives. You don't have to have flowers on each table -- often people go with a candle based

centerpiece. Using seasonal flowers can also cut costs.

Bouquets can cost anywhere from $25 on up -- consider a single perfect flower instead. Church flowers can be taken to the reception, but there is no law that says you have to have them.

Obviously the costs will vary depending on the season, how elaborate the flower selection, and how many of each item are needed. A good shopper can save a lot of money -- at my daughter's wedding, one floral designer wanted $250 for flowers for the cake. We ended up spending $12 for extra stems that matched the bouquets.
Reply:Including the wedding party (bridesmaids/groomsmen).

For 200 guests that's 10 people per table. So 20 tables (round tables). Estimate for flower arrangements for the size of wedding. That would be $100 and up (per table). Depending on the flowers.

$2000 has for ceremony estimate half of that ($1000). For the wedding party $300. For the Bride $150 depending on the flowers.

Roughly $3500 to $5000
Reply:im not sure but try calling a florist and asking
Reply:You need to figure out how many flowers you will need and what kind you want. Are you going to do flowers on the table? If so, what does the arrangement look like.

How many bouquets do you need to buy? That matters with the price too.
Reply:Flower budget can be upwards of 25% of the budget.

Yeah expensive. It is also part of the budget where you can have the most flexibility if you are open to suggestions.

for example talk with several florists as to what flowers are in season. There are so many inexpensive flowers to be used in bouquets and table settings not necessarily roses, calle lillies, etc. and get a great look. You are also able to cut costs by more simple elegant table arrangements by addings candles, scattered petals etc.

Another idea, use the flowers from the church or site of your wedding at your reception. And not everyone attending needs (or wants) a corsage. Another area to cut the budget. I have been to a wedding where the costs exceeded $7000. - the bouquets fell apart before the reception. Another wedding was $600 and the flowers were beautiful (the difference was buying the flowers wholesale and having a novice and a person studying to being a florist make the bouquets and arrangements). If you have the time to shop around, you can save lots.
