I'm getting married in September of 2009. I want calla lilies for my bouquet, but I found a perfect cake with roses on it. I wanted to know if I could use red roses on my cake while using white Calla lilies for my main flower?
Can I use roses on my wedding cake if my main flowers are Calla Lilies?
you can use what ever makes you smile
Reply:It's your wedding day and YOU can decide what you can and can't do. No one else can decide for you. I say go for it.
Reply:Yes you can I've seen other combinations as well. It works because the wedding ceremony and the wedding reception are like two separate events occuring on the same day one right after the other.
Reply:Definitely! Don't drive yourself nuts trying to make sure everything "matches"...you'll miss out on the fun!
Reply:Do what ever you and your husband's heart desires
Reply:no sry i dnt tnk so you should only use one or the other coz if you use both it'll look messy and lose it's effect
Reply:news flash: its your wedding do whatever your heart desires. or ask the florist/baker to replace the flowers with lilies.
Reply:Absolutely! It will be beautiful!
Reply:I'm a floral designer....yes you can....you can incorporate the calla lilies into the roses to tie up the theme of the lilies. Calla lilies come in colors also and you can have shades that go with your color scheme. Add additional calla lilies to the decor of the cake table to combine both types of flowers! Roses and lilies are an elegant and excellent choice of flowers! Good Luck!
Reply:Of course you can. There are no rules that say every single little detail in a wedding has to be all matchy-matchy. In fact, if things get too "coordinated" I think it seems forced and a little obsessive... but that's just me.
Do what you like; afterall, it is your wedding.
Enjoy!
Reply:Of course! To be honest, no one really notices those things. Why not mix it up? Sounds beautiful!
Reply:It's your wedding-do what you want! If you would rather have calla's on it, they florist or baker might be able to work with you on that. My florist made the arrangements and we put them on the cake the day of (or somebody did, not really sure who, but whatever!)
Reply:any flower is beautiful! Its your wedding this is your day! Enjoy your roses and calla lilies! : D
Reply:Absolutely!
Reply:you can do whatever you want. I think nicer if the roses could be white. I think the red clashes with the lilies.
Reply:Yes you have my official permission. You might want to add some splashes of red to the decorations of the room so the roses on the cake will go with the over all colour scheme.
Reply:Yes you can. A cake is all together different from your wedding flowers. Roses on a cake are very beautiful and that is what you should have it is your wedding.
