Flowers
Is fake flowers pretty for a wedding?
i have found some really nice artificial flowers. I don't care what anyone else says about them, i love them. Plus i bought my whole wedding party's flowers for $120. I could not have got the real thing at that price and i am on a tight budget.
Its only flowers, its not like your serving you guests fake food!!!
Reply:They can be.
My friend's mom is really good at silk floral arrangements so she did the garlands for the tables, the gazebo arch, the entryway, etc. in artificial flowers. They were beautiful and she was able to do them in advance since they weren't fresh. She also used artificial flowers in the table centerpieces.
All of the bouquets and corsages were made from natural flowers.
It was VERY pretty. Most of the centerpieces went home with reception guests.

Depends on the quality of the flowers used. I know a local florist who makes silk flowers look real. Her bouquets and arrangements are exquisite. Her work is absolutely beautiful at weddings.
I think silk flowers are good for several reasons. They can be picked up early (if for example, you are taking them to a destination wedding). They are wonderful if bride, groom, or an attendant is allergic to real flowers. Sometimes you can find them at very reasonable prices, like at the site above.
They are definitely an option to be considered.
Reply:I got married in the middle of winter and had silk flowers. I used them for the cake topper too.
They didn't wilt. I got any flower I wanted. The florist did it up way ahead of my wedding and I got to see it and was able to "tweak" it to just how I wanted it. After wards I had my bridal bouquet turn into a centerpiece for my house.
Reply:Are fake flowers pretty for a wedding? Hmmm... i would think not. Just because they are lifeless they just seem so trashy-- although I guess you can get some really pretty ones that would be alright! What are you going to do with all the left over flowers-- real flowers are worth the money because they smell nice and look nice and you dont have to find a place to store them the rest of your life! :)
Reply:It depends if they are done nicely. Some brides do prefer silks either for financial reasons, wanting them to be done early, or to keep them. That is their choice.
I prefer real flowers, but if a bride wants to use silks, I encourage them to just do 1 type of flower (say roses). I don't like the big huge bouquets with 6 or 7 different fake flowers. It really stands out to me.
But again...everyone is different.
Reply:I am going against the grain here......I am using small fake (pretty) arrangments on some of the tables at the reception. For the other tables, and I doing tall vases with rock and candels maybe. YES, real ones are preferred, but I am too practical, and they will go in the trash....plus, I would rather get a massage with my hubby at the honeymoon, then spemd money on real flowers. WHO CARES what everyone esle thinks
good luck
Reply:I had silk bouquets made for my wedding, and they were stunning.
I guess it depends on what sort of fake flowers it is - there are some really cheap ones that look very tacky, but the silk ones I had looked very real and pretty.
Reply:Fake flowers are beautiful for a wedding!
My fiance and I are having all silk flowers for our wedding in July. The silk flowers look so beautiful......They look just as nice as "real" flowers, plus you can keep them forever and they will never die.
Reply:Fake is fake. Real flowers have a fragrance and a essence that will enhance the atmosphere of joy and love. There is no duplication to this from fake flowers.
Reply:no! they are boring, not pretty and they are fake. real flowes are really not that expensive if you stay away from calla lillies.
Reply:i would definitely not do fake flowers for a wedding they just make it seem so tacky
real flower will make it elegant and will set the mood
Reply:No, it tends to look too tacky- kind of like a casino, las vegas style informal wedding!
Reply:Real flowers are better; smell; look; and fake flowers look too tacky.
Reply:Yeah, probably more real than some of the marriages.
Reply:Sure but actualy flowers are nicer
Reply:I am using fake for my wedding and I don't see anything wrong it with it.
