October wedding...is it more expensive to get "off" season flowers?

I want tulips for my wedding and they are usually in season from Spring to early Summer (May)

What about silk flowers? Our wedding was in November and we did Silk flowers. I now have the arrangements to look at in various places in my house. My bouquet along with my husbands boutonniere and my kids flowers, (second wedding of course), are in a basket together.
Reply:Any flower shop should be able to get tulips any time of the year if they order them soon enough from their wholesaler. But, I would reconsider tulips because they blow open very fast after they leave the flower shop cooler. They won;t last long a all. And the grow long, and leggy. usually bending their heads downward.

parrott tulips I think are the prettiest.
Reply:You are getting married and you are worried about the extra money for the flowers. Call the wedding off save yourself a bunch of money and heartache
Reply:I had tulips for my wedding, but I got married in the month of April. If you really want tulips and they are not in season when you are getting married, see if there is some other wedding-related expense you can cut back on so that you can afford the tulips, if that's what you really want. Best wishes to you and your fiancee!
