Reply:ew, carnations. I agree, in moderation they are GREAT, but a solid bouquet of um....ugh! Unfortunatly, due to valentines, all flowers are gonna be more expensive that time of year....prices go up drastically in between valentines and mothers day, its the biggest flower time of the year! Roses are moderately priced, tulips may be ok, shasta daisies, some carnations (the mini ones are pretty cute!) alstromeria, buttons, etc are all good inexpensive as possible flowers. also, greenery is always a good way to take up space without spending a fortune and its always a pretty compliment. the ones I have named are always in season! I would defiently avoid things like calla lilies that are AT LEAST $10 per stem when not in the hot season, hydrangeas, gardenias, stepahanotis, peonies, etc....those are always expensive normally, but skyrocket that time of year!
Reply:roses and gerbera daisies
Reply:Carnations are a good buy in any month! And you can have them "tipped" or painted! For instance, let's say your wedding colors are pink and navy blue. You can have pink carnations tipped in dark blue. They fill out too, so you don't have to buy as many to have a full looking bouquet! :)

Good luck! :)
Reply:Find out what can be locally grown in your area. If the weather is too cold; consider decorating w/pointsetta. They come in various colors. Roses can be expensive and carnations are not quite "weddingish". Some spring flowers could also be forced to bloom which may not be too expensive - tulips, daffadills.
Reply:yes, i agree..carnations are the new roses for 2007-08. If you gather them together(kinda like a ball)about 5 or 7 with some seeded eucalyptus, and babybreath, they make a great centerpeice. Large ones together almost look like peonies, and they're expensive!Well, good luck!
Reply:Carnations are always nice and are cheep and come in a wide color selection. They are cheep but look pretty too!

Above is a site that has pictures of inexpensive wedding flowers!
Reply:Don't underestimate the beauty of carnations. They are inexpensive and can be gorgeous in a bouquet or centerpiece.
Reply:Roses and orchids are year round. How about those Amaryllis plants? I had them in a long clear vase and cut in an arrangement for the seating cards. They're amazing...

How about less flowers but in a scultural arrangement, this designer Jeff Leatham drowns flowers and uses less flowers but in an interesting way. He'll take cala lillies and submerged them in water
