Getting married overseas and was considering bring silk ones in a style and color that I like, unless the flowers should always be real. I'm clueless about this...
Can a bride carry silk flowers in a small wedding, or is that in poor taste? Should they always be real?
Actually, some of the most elegant weddings I have attended have had silk flowers. Also, my husband who is a photographer, says it is easier to pose them and such for the pictures.
Just make sure they are high quality, so they don't look obviously fake.
Reply:I had silk flowers for my wedding, they look great in the pictures. good luck and congratulations.
Reply:I had a destination wedding, and had silk arrangements made ahead of time, so that it was one less thing for me to fool with out of town. If you're getting married overseas, the more you do before going, means the more you get to enjoy yourself while your "on vacation!" It's your wedding, and honestly, silk flowers look just as real as "real" flowers...mainly because they are "real" flowers...just made out of fabric, that's all. Congrats, good luck, and enjoy yourself!
Reply:Nothing wrong at all with silk flowers, for any kind of wedding.
Reply:I think that real flowers are really a better choice...
Reply:It's your wedding...thus it is all about you and your day. If silk flowers are easier for you, then go for it. Chances are, the people in attendance will be paying much more attention to you rather than the flowers that you are holding.
Reply:Silk flowers are bad luck! Always have fresh flowers in your home and especially on your wedding day. Look online for flowers available where you are getting married. You'll be surprised. Go with fresh!
Reply:The bride can carry whatever she wants. Its your wedding and it should go the way you want it to or how it can afford to go, don't worry about pleasing your guests by choosing flowers, its your special day!
Reply:They must be real so that whoever catches them will get a Real Husband.
Reply:My mother's entire family always used silk flowers (bouquets and bridesmaid floral hair combs) for every single one of their weddings! That's what they could afford on their budget.
Until I was an adult, I didn't even realize other brides used real flowers!
There is nothing wrong with using artificial flowers, if that's what you want to do. The marriage will still be real!
Reply:Silk is fine...My wedding wasn't small and i used silk...They did better in the heat to...
Reply:Hi Va, It's the brides wedding, and if you want to carry silk flowers, then that's what you should do. Remember you are just planning to get marry once,so make this wedding for you,and your mate to remember. I hope you are truely happy, and have smiling, and health babies. A Friend

Reply:no, it doesn't have to be real flowers. if you want to preserve your bouquet, definitely go for silk ones. plus, if your wedding is overseas, you're not allowed to carry it in the plane.
actually, there are lots of beautiful real-looking silk flowers out there so you don't have to worry about it being poor taste. just don't go for the dollar ones though... those look like they're in poor taste =D
Reply:You can set the rules it's your day.
Reply:Fake flowers are just as fine as real, and look at it this way...you can keep them on display in your home as a constant reminder of your wonderful day.
