Ideas for flowers and decorations for a wedding in October.?

I am having my wedding on Oct 14th and am looking for ideas for flowers and table decorations. I don't want it looking too much like Thanksgiving, but think some fall colors would be nice. What type of flowers are inexpensive at that time of year in Minnesota? Thanks all!

Gerber daisies are a great touch for a fall wedding. You could pick out your own colors. Also white pumpkins add a classy looking touch. I went to a wedding last oct. and they had white pumpkins. It looked so GOOD! I was really impressed.

They can help you get better price quotes from vendors and the service is completely free, so it's worth the try. Just post a project for all the services you need and they'll do the rest. I hope this helps !
Reply:I think roses say "Love" in any color(don't forget the baby's breath)...or Orchids are elegant as well. Not sure where in Minnesota you are located but I found this info. for a florist: Bachmans that offers a "package" (see enclosed info. below)

I think this is a great deal for what is included. When I purchased my flowers ( blood red roses) 20 years ago our bill came to $1300.00 and did not include a "toss bouquet", cake topper or centerpieces(they were supplied by banquet hall)

Don't forget about flowers for the church...these can be brought to the reception if they are to be standing arrangements. Or you can just use colored bows w/ greens on the pews.Check w/ your wedding planner if you have one or check bridal sites on line.

Many blessings and Congrats to you.

Reply:Royal colors would be pretty, like a deep blue, burgandy, and forest green. Or, go ultra elegant with black and white and one other accent color. I'm not certain about the flowers-call a local flower shop and they will tell you. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!
Reply:You could go with maroon and green with baby's breath for the colors, and for centerpieces candles and go to a flower shop they have all different flowers know matter what time of year it is,you could pick tulips roses,or take different flowers and put them together.Congratulations
Reply:I like burgandy or navy blue. Both are pretty for that time of year. I'm not sure about the flowers, but if anything like where I'm from, they have flower packages where you pay a certain price for all the flowers you'll need for different types of flowers.
Reply:Orange would be very cute
Reply:Congrats on the wedding! I got married last October and I went with burgendy and ivory. Everything looked so nice. I stayed away from roses and went with calla lilies. They have beautiful fall colors. Gerber daisies also have great fall colors and are inexpensive. Have fun!
Reply:There are a lot of wedding websites with tons of fall wedding ideas, like The Knot and Wedding Channel.

Something I think would be really pretty is using a lot of white, and accenting it with burdundy and gold/copper - you can use gold beading, gold or copper looking candlesticks, etc. Use some fall foliage and/or berries in your boquets. Bring in natural textures with your tablecloths. It will have those fall elements, but still look fresh and wedding-y, not like Thanksgiving.

I'm not sure of anything specific to Minnesota, but sunflowers and dahlias are two fall flowers. My best advice for finding out about the flowers is to talk to your florist.

Congratulations!
