Fresh Flowers!!
Ladies, do you prefer silk or fresh flowers for a wedding?
I would rather have fresh even though silk lasts forever.
Reply:I had silk flowers for my wedding only because it was so hot it was a summer weddding and the fresh flowers just would not have lasted the day

Reply:Fresh flowers for sure. I know there are benefits to silk (ie they last forever, don't wilt etc) but there is something special about carrying a beautiful bunch of fresh flowers. Especially if they smell great.
Having said that, silk flowers are handy for other things, eg they are good for the cake as some types of real flowers drip sap and you wouldn't want to be eating that!
Reply:I had silk. I didn't have to deal with my allergies and I still have my bouquet.
Reply:Fresh Flowers. I am a waitress and I work at lots of weddings, apart from the fact that they look good, fresh flowers also make the room smell loverly!!!
Reply:When I got married I used both I had the fresh flowers that I threw at the reception and the silk flowers I had until we divorced now my daughter has them silk lasts forever
Reply:Fresh flowers, they will make the wedding smell fresh, but if you get silk the are just as pretty and you can keep them, to remind you of the perfect day
Reply:fresh flowers...
Reply:Fresh, absolutely- the scent, the texture, there's nothing like it!
But, with my wedding, which took place in a Victorian garden, I asked the florist to incorporate lavender and rosemary and artemisia and hydrangeas and such- I got my bouquet professionally preserved, but I wanted whoever caught the toss bouquet to have something that would dry nicely on its own and be a keepsake. Which worked out wonderfully, because my best friend caught it... :-)
Reply:Fresh Flowers!! though silk can be pretty...
Reply:Before officiating, I started out many years ago doing wedding arrangements using silk.
The benefits of silk are, you can get ALL your flowers weeks before the wedding, which is one less thing you have to worry about; other than getting them to the wedding. If the order is missing a few, or isn't to your liking, it gives you time to correct it. And you have them forever. Afterwards, I've seen brides put their bouquets in a glass dome for safe keeping.
Real flowers on the other hand smell wonderful. (if fragrance was that important to the bride, I would add fragrance to their bouquets) Some brides just prefer real flowers, %26amp; will settle on nothing less. Nature does marvelous work! And sometimes the flower you want, just can't be found in silk. Sometimes you can combine the two.
It's really a matter of your own preference.
Reply:Fresh!!! I still think of my wedding day every time I smell freesias.
Reply:fresh all the way, i hate silk flowers. i would never use silk flowers for anything, especially my wedding.
i'm getting married in 6 wks, we're having sunflowers and such.
Reply:Fresh flowers, that's what I'm getting!
Reply:I prefer silk flowers )they are what I am planning to have for my own wedding) because I want to have my bouquet for years and look at it and for it to still be beautiful after all that time.
Reply:I'm getting fresh, unless i can find silk ones that look real enough. I would love to display my bouquet in my home for more than a day! ;-)
Reply:fresh, definitely!!!
Reply:I would go with fresh flowers, however be sure that you look into preservation BEFORE the wedding if that is something you want to do. I didn't do that, I still have my bouquet preserved in a keepsake box but I would have much rather professionally preserved it.
