It's not something commonly done anymore, no. That doesn't mean you can't do it that way, but it's a custom more honored in the breech than the observation.
These days couples are more likely to pool their money to the common goal - with or without contributions from one or both sets of parents - and not worry about who pays for what specifically.

Not specifically. The couple should be paying for everything in regard to the wedding themselves. So it's your money pooled together...

Reply:My fiancee is going to pay for my bouquet because my Dad is going to pay for the party, Its is supposed for him to pay for alcohol, but it all depends on how you want to organize it.
Reply:no, the old customs assumed a bride living with her parents and that they were paying for the wedding. That is just not the case anymore. it is up to the couple to decide between them how the finances will be handled
Reply:Not really. Grooms help pay for as little or as much as they can.
