A combination of dark and light flowers in contrasting colours to the dress. Take a picture of the dress to a local florist and explain what you want - they can then match the flowers to the dress. Red would be too heaby but some deep orange tea roses with some fuschias to soften it should make a lovely posy especially if edged with baby's breath.
Reply:Tulips are a great choice. Not to detailed so it will not take away attention from your dress, try something like this maybe...

And these calla lillies are a good option, with the deep green leaves, it would bring out the coulour of your dress and its nothing too big (only 3 flowers) for a registry wedding. its the first pic!
