I am getting married Jan. 5 2007 and I need some ideas on what kind of flowers to use and what will be in season? Please give any ideas u have. Thanks A Mill.
What are some flowers that u can use 4 a wedding in Jan.2007? a winter wedding?
mysterygirl had a good list of flowers that can be ordered through a florist at any time of year, though you'll find some are more difficult to get and so more expensive than at different seasons. Another idea, have a main component of your flowers, whether your bouquet or other arrangements, be greenery. I worked one wedding where the bridesmaids bouquets were each a different kind of green, one was holly, another lemon leaf, another eucalyptus, etc., each with the same ribbon. The bride's bouquet had a combination of the greens with white roses, it was very pretty and unique (and much less expensive than just using flowers).
Talk to your florist, they can help you with what to do. Congratulations, enjoy your beautiful day!

Reply:Roses are always in good taste, and you can find them all year round. If you're looking for something seasonal, consider poinsettias or some sort of Ivy %26amp; Holly--wintery looking greens. There is also a magazine just on wedding flowers--I had one for my wedding and saw a similar one for sale last week at Barnes and Noble. It will give you an idea of what's hot and give you some pics you can show to florists!

If you want to save money you should go with whatever available at the market like lilies stargazer, Casablanca, Cala, Alstromeria, Chrysanthemums, Daisies - Gerbera Carnations Freesia Gardenias Amaryllis Hydrangea Magnolia Snowball Mums Poinsettias - White and Red Pionese
And you can dress up your bouquets and centerpieces with winter accents such as pine cones, eucalyptus, Holly Leaves, Berries - Holly or other types, Evergreen Branches. There are ton of things you can sub for the flowers and still looks stunning. Have fun.
