How long do they last? Are they going to look horrible by the end of the day?
Phalaenopsis orchids as wedding flowers??
Orchids are pretty durable. I buy them all the time and they last about 3 weeks, looking fabulous. We used them for our wedding and go sick of seeing them day after day. Go to a florist and buy a couple of stems and see how they work out for you.
Reply:Orchids are very delicate- they probably won't work as cut flowers. However, potted phalaenopsis would look pretty as centerpieces for the tables, and then people could take them home. It probably wouldn't be more expensive than arrangements.
If you are set on orchids for your bouquet or your hair or whatever, talk to your florists- they'll know if there are tricks to make them last the day.
