We have a very limited budget. I want the wedding theme to be simple, yet elegant.
Need ideas for centerpieces for a red, white, and black wedding. No flowers, too expensive! Any ideas?
There are lots of centerpieces that can be done for less than $10. Go to your local arts and crafts store, buy a glass bowl, fill part way with water and float some blooms in the water. Much less than a typical florist arrangement. If the bowl is shallow enough you can also put a pillar candle in it. Check out the neat centerpieces they did on Design on a Dime wedding, link below
Reply:There are so many things you could do with that color scheme. THe first thing that comes to mind is floating candles. You could have three candles in the bowl each red, white and black. You could also have mini sheet cakes decorated in your color scheme as the centerpeice. It would save you cost on the actual wedding cake if inexpensive sheet cakes were used.
Reply:I don't know where you'd find them at this time of the year, but Christmas balls! You know, the "generic" round glass Christmas ornaments. Put red and white (pearl, silver) ones in a clear bowl with some dark stones or maybe on a "nest" of black confetti/shreddings.....oooooo, fabric!!! You can get black fabric that is meant to be the lining of a jacket / skirt / etc. for dirt cheap. And since it has a bit of a glean to it, everything will be pretty and shiny.
Reply:At our wedding we purchased candle holders, decorated with ribbons (colors of the wedding) and put them on a mirror. It was really pretty and was pretty cheap. We made 18 sets (meaning: 18 candles, holders and mirrors) I spent about $100 total on my centerpieces. Good luck!
Reply:I know you wanted to pass on flowers, but I saw some wonderful ideas on Wedding Design on a Dime in the same colors. http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv/dc_occasions_we...
The centerpieces are a single submerged calla lily in a tall vase and the cake is simply white, black ribbon, and red daisies on the top. Great if this is your style.
Reply:White Candles tied with Red Ribbons on a Black Tablecloth (use the standard white tablecloths and then put a square black napkin on the center)
Reply:candles, decorated with ribbons, or just floating candles.
In the relevant colours of course. Use a black container white lace and red candles
Reply:you can have a wide round cristal vase filled with water and floating candels and maybe some rose petals floating with the candles. It'll look delicate and is less expensive than flowers.
Reply:Small glass vase with those shiny red rocks in it, with a black fish swimming in the vase ( fish are like 20cents a piece at Wal-Mart) surrounded by white tealights, it looks really neat try one and see what you think.
Reply:candles look great sitting on top of mirrors for center pieces. you can either do small votives, or larger or a mixture. then drape some fabric in your colors around the table. you could also do arrangements of dried flowers...
