My bridesmaids are wearing black, and the little girls will wear white. There will be pumpkins and leaves and fall themed flowers lit by candlelight..Any ideas for the little girls to carry?
I am having a fall wedding and am having 8 flower girls. I want them to carry something other than flowers..?
1. The little girls could carry baskets of colorful leaves.
2. They could carry kissing balls (pomanders).
3. Parasols.
4. Fans.
5. Wreaths, like the young attendants did when the Duke and Duchess of York wed.
6. Smaller versions of the bridesmaids' bouquets, perhaps?
Reply:Have them carry:
Kissing balls(you can make these with leaves or flowers...use a foam ball and glue a ribbon so they can hold it around their wrists and then poke the leaves and/or flowers to it)
Lanterns with fake tealights in them
Baskets or hollowed out gords(to match your fall theme) filled with leaves in orange, red, yellow.
Cornicopia(spell??) with leaves or indian corn inside.
Reply:maybe you could make them or buy some sachets. Like you know those smelly things you put in your underwear drawer? Maybe have those but bigger, tied in a white cloth, and a bow/ string "handle" that they could put over their wrists! I remember being a flower girl and we had these sachet balls with a string handle on it, and I loved it.
Another idea would be glass hanging lanterns. On my porch, I have these very beautiful glass lanterns that are very basic and hang from hooks. They hold tealights, and are very pretty. You could have your flower girl each hold a lantern and place it in front of the alter, it would be very pretty.
Reply:i had my flower girl carry a stuffed bunny that had a mini bouquet in it's paws. i had a head band on it that matched the one for my flower girl. i think this would work if you had really little girls you could use a teddy bear or something like that.

Reply:Hi,
i think ur flower girls should carry fall colored rose petals in the baskets, u can use artificial petals too, mix them with some artificial small leaves.i think this will look nice and put some Small baby pumpkins in there basket too.

best of luck :)
Reply:Depending on the ages maybe the little ones can carry a teddy bear holding a single flower( they can keep the bear as a thank you), the older ones can carry a small pumpkin arrangement and when they get to the front have them place them on the step or where ever they would look nice!
Reply:They could carry small battery operated lanterns. here's one example, but I'm sure you could search for much more and find something that will work with your theme. I think candles are too dangerous for kids, so anything battery operated that lights up would be much better.

Reply:have them carry baskets full of silk leaves to throw for you to walk down. My flower girl baskets were made of those grapvine balls. I cut the top off and glued ivy leaves to the outside, they look -really- beautiful.
Reply:You could have them carry battery powered candles. You could also have them walk down the aisle blowing bubbles, or holding small baskets and scattering confetti.

Reply:if your having the actual wedding out side they could blow bubbles rather than toss petals
Reply:I think beautiful is when form follows function. Are they too young for candles? Do they need to carry anything?
Reply:small pumpkins, Cinnamon sticks, sachets of spices but flowers will be cheaper
Reply:A small basket with fall flowers inside.
Reply:Eight flowers girls???????????????? Holy ****!!! How big IS this wedding?
