Can anyone tell me how to make a cone that will hold flowers on a chair at a wedding ceremony?

If you want a lacy one, roll a piece of card stock into a cone shape the desired size... then put a piece of tape on it. Drench your lace fabric in liquid starch, overlapping the connecting edge. Place these cones over a soda bottle or something tall. Let them thoroughly dry... probably a good 24 hours.

Once they have dried, take out the card stock, so you can then place the flowers inside. At this time, you can cute the top part a bit, if needed.

For the handle, use either a coordinating ribbon or some lace that is folded over. If you need to use anything to secure the ribbon/lace to the lace cone, there are all kinds of things you can use... IE fabric glue, low-temp glue, stitches with needle %26amp; thread... but, you could also be creative and use inexpensive earrings.

Hope the wedding is wonderful!

This might work-- just came back from Michael's-- they have a "tree" that is being used for cupcakes for a party--- take a look and see if it will do the trick--

Otherwise, the only cone I can come up with is the plastic floral cones- which may or maynot be of help.

good luck
Reply:Styrofoam covered in fabric. Predrill holes about the radius of stem in styrofoam. Put bottom of cone in a pot or something nice to get water to the flowers. Stick flowers in predrilled holes.
