Flowers on wedding cake?

how do I put a cascade of fresh flowers down a wedding cake? do I wire them or just push into the cake?

Flowers on wedding cake?
I would suggest wrapping the stems with green floral tape before pushing them into the cake. You can find it at any craft store.

Reply:Of course you can cascade flowers down a cake!

At my wedding, we had the bakery made a white wedding cake and ordered flowers through the florist. Then I literally drew a picture of what I wanted and they stuck the flowers in accordingly. No wires needed.

At a wedding I was coordinating, I used QFC roses and did it all myself to save the bride money -- in case you have an artistic friend you trust!

Good luck!
Reply:Make sure you use flowers that are grown specifically to use as food, there are even flowers that are edible, you can't just go to costco or your local florist for this, because of the pesticides used on those flowers can be toxic, and may leach into your cake. Some of the flowers themselves can be toxic as well, so make sure you find the right type. Your baker should know where to get those. You don't want wedding guests getting sick from the cake!!! Best of luck!
Reply:however you think looks right on the cake. as long as it stays. i think either way it will look very pretty.
Reply:Do NOT put flower stems directly into the cake. Some flowers are toxic.

Instead put the stems into a food safe container make especially for this %26amp; insert them into the cake. Or place the arrangements on cardboard covered with wax paper or another surface that can be laid on the cake.
Reply:Push them into the cake, do not wire it'll be hard to cut out.
Reply:push them into the cake make sure they have like 5 inches of stem
Reply:Wire the flowers into the shape of the cascade and then set the finished piece to the cake. In this way you can then remove the entire cascade when it comes time to serve the cake, You could play a game and give away those flowers at the reception or the bride could keep them
Reply:use some of your icing as a glue to hold them there
Reply:U don't have to keep the steam long. For my wedding. I had lots of flowers on the cake. We just cut it short and push on the cake. They actually stay very well with stem being short as well. No need any wire of anything...It really is easier than it looks
