Which flowers go to these wedding anniversaries?
There is no such thing. After the 15th anniversary, it starts going in 5 yr. increments, so the next would be the 20th (cutting out 16, 17, 18, 19) then it jumps to the 25th (cutting out 21, 22, 23, 24).
The 35th, 45th, 55th, 60th, 65th, 70th %26amp; 75th do not have flowers associated with them, only gems %26amp; certain colors. And the 56th isn't recognized as many of the above weren't in the first paragraph.

Reply:I've just googled "Wedding Anniversary Flowers" and the very first one at the top of the list, goes right through the flower for each year.
Have a try! Best of luck!!

I'm looking for a wedding ceremony that involves placing flowers in a wreath and saying their meaning.?
I saw a ceremony some time ago that said something about a tree and a vine having seperate root systems but functioning better together and then it went into the wreath with flowers and their meanings. Help if you can! Thanks!
I'm looking for a wedding ceremony that involves placing flowers in a wreath and saying their meaning.?
Unfortunately, I've never heard of it, but it sounds lovely and meaningful. I'd be curious to learn more about it. If you can recall where you saw it, and who had it, try contacting them to gather more information.

Thanks for the help!
What flowers (or colors of flowers) would look nice at a wedding with these colors?
For the 2nd and 3rd choices some flowers that would be good are geraniums, roses,Moss roses, and depending on your taste Poppies and Bachelor Buttons will work too.
For the 1st choice some flowers that would be good are roses, Delphinium,Garenia, stephanotis and depending on your taste Hydrangeas and Sweet pea will work too.
Reply:I would use roses or lillys in the colors coral and white. If you can find them.good luck
Reply:White would work with all (especially if the bride is in white/ivory).

2. Orchids Remind me of the beach, and they woul look nice with the colors
3. Daisies, there are alot of paintings with at sunset with daisies

The flower choices are personnel to you, if you have decided on a colour theme for your wedding than go %26amp; see a florist, tell them what colours you are thinking of having %26amp; they will surguest what colours goes best %26amp; what sort of flowers look nice togeter.
But remember it depends on where your getting married %26amp; what time of the year too.
Reply:Well with the blue, pink, orange, yellow and white... gerber daisies and lillies would look really nice. I just got married 2 weeks ago, and all my flowers were gerbera daisies in the colors of red, yellow, orange, and white. All the bridesmaids dresses were apple red. The decorations looked elegant and we had so many compliments.
Reply:aqua and white it reminds me of the beach.
Reply:1. White flowers of any type would look good. Maybe with various shades of blue ribbons.
2. Some type of exotic flower. I like lilies. Mixed bouquets would look nice. I would keep the ribbons, etc. white.
3. Go with some type of "orange" flower. That would set everything off perfectly.
Good luck with your wedding and best wishes on your marriage.
Reply:calla lillies are a very elegant flower and come mostly in white but if you get them the night before your wedding and put them in water that has food coloring added to it you can make them any color you want.
Reply:I don't care for #1. As for #2, it's gorgeous with a beach setting. Even indoors you can still place floating candles with seashells and sand as centerpieces and sprinkle pretty beachy things on your tables. It's also perfect for a summer, late summer wedding. #3 sounds springy colors but yet perfect for an evening, candlelit wedding. Nice choices and congrats!

Flowers for wedding?
Im wearing a blush pink dress and my bridemaids are wearing emerald green. What color for the flowers? I was thinking red roses? Or maybe purple?
Flowers for wedding?
Purple roses sound beautiful. I've seen them and they truly are stunning. However I would suggest purple tulips or lilies in place of roses, because your color choices sound spring-like.
Reply:I think yellow, both bright and pale would be pretty.
Reply:pink dress....green dresses...stick to you colors....try white flowers or pink
Reply:Pink and green would be good!
Reply:I like what Ready to go picked out. If your doing emrald green just go darker with the green. If you don't want alot of pink then do more green of different types of flowers that are pink.

What Flowers should i have for a sep/oct wedding?
I am looking for all the autumn colours
What Flowers should i have for a sep/oct wedding?
orange red roses would look like the autumn leaves. There are a variety of orange, red, yellow, maroon, pinks in autumn colours. Get out take a few pictures if you can of some bushes and tree's you see that take your eye. Get to the florist and say match these colours please! Nature has always managed to put autumn colours together in a beautiful way for centuries!!! The red lilies and deep red roses contrast with the brighter oranges of huge chrysanthemums and vivid red gerberas; deep burgundy red of the Safari Sunset foliage completes the palette of autumn colours.
Some suggestions:
Yellow and orange roses mixed with some deep red ones.
Orange carnations, yellow sunflowers, strelitzia and soft peach coloured roses.
Good luck!
Reply:roses, always go for roses.... traditional, beautiful and available in the widest array of colours
Reply:Chrysanthemums, asters, and day lillies are lovely right now. They would look beautuful for decorations.
For bouquets, rich red or yellow roses, tiger lillies, and lovely greenery would be great.
Ask a good florist for suggestions.
Reply:i have just got married on sat and i used foam roses and made my own bouquet along with the bridesmaid's posy and the buttonholes. it cost me a total of £30 and they do a wide variety of colours. plus it wont spoil if you intend on keeping it.
All the best hope this helps
Reply:You can't go wrong with roses as a main flower. Autumnal colours ie dark red, deep apricot, yellow would be lovely with lots of trailing dark green foliage.
Enjoy! I wish you a lifetime of good health and happiness.

Reply:If you want autumn, you would want deep reds, dark purples, orange. There's still hints of green in the trees, too. If you are in an area that is getting fall foliage, drive around and take pictures of the trees. I'm in NJ and planning an October wedding and have a great time.
Also, check out the craft stores. I know the ones in my area just put their fall florals on sale - - I grabbed a whole bunch and put them in a vase on my desk at work as a reminder of my impending fall wedding.

Whats the best kind of flowers for a wedding?
It depends on many things.... do you want something that is 'in season'? Traditional like Calla Lily's or nontraditional like Birds of Paradise? Are you looking for hand tied bouquets where gerbera daisies are always good, or traditional nosegay's with stargazer lillies and lots of baby's breath?
Your question is rather vague, give some details as to what you are looking for - stylewise, when the wedding is, are you asking for bouquets or centerpieces or boutonnieres?
Reply:something that is plentiful in your area or else they will cost a fortune to bring in
Reply:Calla lilies and orchids are so amazingly beautiful. But they're amazingly expensive too, especially for rare orchids.
I really like dahlias as an inexpensive flower. The burgundy and magenta ones are especially lovely.
Reply:Use your favorite flowers..
i'm sure you have some kinds you like or perfer..
like snap dragons?
Reply:Tulips and Lillies are beautiful....
but I dont think there is a spicific flower you should use. It should be a flower that you like or a flower that may have a special meaning.
Reply:Carnations are light and free-spirited. Yet they are elegant. They work well in a fairy-tale/butterfly reception.
For a more royal fee, incorporate Stephanotis and Calla Lilies (especially the minis).
Reply:Calla Lilies...simple and beautiful.

Initially, I wanted to do peonies and ranunculus flowers, but they are not in season in October. So, I am going with green zinnias, dark calla lilies, white tulips, white dahlias, and some greenery.
We are also doing green hydrangeas, ivory roses, and a chocolate artichoke for our centerpieces.
Good luck! It is fun searching for flowers...
Reply:i think calla lilies are very pretty. and they can be done with just about any color theme. they also come in a variety of colors as well. im going to use white and green calla liles in my wedding next year when my husband gets back from deployment. (we got married in a courthouse and now i want a formal wedding)
Reply:really anything that you like, some thing that smells nice. babies breath always looks nice. as my name says, black tulips are beautifull and so different from red or yellow ones. don't go for lillies or it may be orchids as they can stain clothing with their pollen and some smell very overpowering.
go to a flower market and you will be surprised at the choice you have. good luck, happy picking and enjoy the wedding.

What should be the maximum age for a flower girl (wedding)?
I am getting married on 10/28/06 and I wish to know the maximum age of a flower girl for my wedding
What should be the maximum age for a flower girl (wedding)?
I would have a flower girl up to age 10-11. But not sure what people really do, thats just me.
Reply:Personally, I think the best age for a flower girl is between 5 and 9 years old, give or take depending on relationship to the girl and the girl's personality. I wouldn't go much older, though, and still call her a flower girl - I was a flower girl in my (much) older sister's wedding when I was 11 and part of me was insulted that I wasn't a bridesmaid. (We didn't exactly have Jr. Bridesmaids back then.)
btw, congrats on your marriage!
Reply:I think max age would be 7 or 8 - after that they
do not like the goofy fluffy dresses
Really cute age is 4-5
Reply:I would say 7-8. I just got married last month and we didn't have a flower girl because we had no one in that age range. We made my 11-year old stepdaughter a junior bridesmaid; she felt like she was helping out more as older kids like to do.
Congrats!
Reply:i think it should b 9 or 10
Reply:I don't know that there is a "maxium" age. I'm guessing that around the ages 10-12 they probably don't think that's going to be a fun thing. I'm guessing the average age is between 3-7 maybe.
Reply:I'd say 7 or 8. After that they get taller and don't look "little" any more.
Reply:If they have a mustache, then they are too old.
Reply:I'd have to say that under 12 is probably best..... and between the ages of 3 and 5 is the cutest.....
Reply:I would hope she was younger than the bride!
Actually, I believe flower girls are traditionally under 10, and after that they can be junior bridesmaids, ifyou wanted to include a pre-teen or early teen in the wedding.
Congratulations on your wedding, and I hope it brings you a lifetime of happiness. My husband and I just celebrated our 54th anniversary, and I'm still nuts about him....

Flowers for an amphitheater wedding?
I'm at a total loss. I have no clue what to do in terms of floral design for an amphitheater wedding. The site is outdoor and all stone. I like simplistic elegance, but I don't even know where to start. I don't want anything gawdy, but I have to do something, right?
Flowers for an amphitheater wedding?
One suggestion I have is to place a floor arrangement at the beginning of each row of seating (or, if on a budget, maybe the first three or so rows), and then have one main floor arrangement behind your officiant. Or lay a small bouquet of pretty wildflowers on each row.
A website that helped me with flowers for my wedding was http://weddings.about.com/od/weddingflow... - gives you an idea of what flowers are associated with which month, and also which ones are available at your time of year, if I remember correctly.
Reply:I helped with doing the flowers at an outdoor wedding, an ampitheatre setting as well, but with a scenic backdrop so the flowers were between the couple and the guests, low bouquets.
Unfortunately the weather was with temps and humidity in the upper 90s, so whatever we did had to be rearranged once it arrived, and even then some things wilted badly---not enough oasis water holders in the baskets.
Is the backgroup stone? To soften that up sometimes you can use ivy (real or fake) coming from urns or pedestal of varying heights. Also you will want to know the approximate time of year, what flowers wilt easily, what fillers will survive.
One wedding I helped set up, they had planned on using the creeping myrtle around the garden, and that wilted horribly, so we quickly got sprays of Oregon Grape from the yard and substituted it around the tent used, and along the aisle created on the lawn.
For my daughters wedding in early April, I bought hundreds of white tulips in glass vases for the serving tables, but it was too cold that day and tulips did not open up till 2-3 days later.
A wholesale floral place is a great help if someone has a business license to help you get the bulk flowers, and have a friend designated to do the set up. Some wedding places will rent you pillars, pedestals, urns, baskets, etc. Or you can buy at a craft place, line baskets, buy oasis, and get a crew to do the flowers. Lilies stand up well, and the flowers will open if done the day before. I did lilies for the ladies bouquets once and for the huge sprays for the platform--did it in the morning, and even tho an 80+ degree day, they had been well preserved in the cool house and church and did not open well that day for the evening wedding.
For the bouquets, I had the brides mother save canning jars in a large box, with something like foam or air pillows between each jar, and then they could be transported to the service and the reception without cracking off the petals of the next one!
Go to a florist first to get ideas from their book as to what they have available. For my daughters wedding, I had the florist make the boutonierres and corsages, and did the bouquets myself with matching colors: just bundled a dozen roses together (white with pink edges for hers and pink for the ladies) and did a criss cross tie down and then up again, and tied more ribbon trailers on each. Leave 1 inch at the bottom not tied with ribbon, for the roses to drink up after they are tied.
There are craft books that can tell you where to begin, and what to do first. Get an idea of color and you can slowly start getting the favors, the table decor, the invites, the flowers and other stuff ready. Having tulle rolls handy for the tables is an easy way to embellish, with candles, mirrors, sparkles, confetti, etc.
Have a lovely wedding, and it can be simple and elegant.
Reply:This kind of space lends itself well to things with some height. I'm thinking forsythia, maybe an arch, hibiscus trees. Perhaps even draping, flowing fabric. If the shell is to your back you could do colored lights... how cool would the sun rising be for a pattern? All it would take is a piece of colored glass slowly turning into place. I'd ask a professional.
Reply:Use light blue hydrangeas and white roses, it's a beautiful, sophisticated combo.
Reply:Maybe not flowers, but instead plants? Maybe a big fern with a big bow in your wedding colors around the pot.
Reply:Some arrangemtns in roses and carnations, and maybe some hydranges in your wedding colors. If there are some arrangments around the place keep it simple and try to blend in with your surroundings.

Please help with telling me which ones to put together. The names of them ~ im really lost. And I want mine real but the others silk so should I wait until fall flowers come out in July - Sept or is there any way I can just use what they have out now and make the silk ones? Suggestions and help please!
Flowers for September fall themed wedding ??
Have you figured out what your style is? Are you looking for an elegant look or more casual? Sunflowers are more casual, but you can get them in silk too and they look very real. Miniature Calla Lilies are really elegant and come in a variety of deep rich colors and look really pretty just in a hand bouquet by themselves and tied with a ribbon. You really should go to a florist that is recommended by someone in your area that has seen their work and have a consultation. They are usually free and you should ask for pictures of their work (not generic pictures in a book, but their actual work) and letters from previous brides. Also ask for references of previous brides, phone numbers if they'll give them so you can ask in person how they were. Don't be afraid of your budget either, a good florist will work with you. Good luck and Congratulations!
Reply:I suggest visiting weddinglenox.com and post your request. Their matching system http://www.weddinglenox.com/membersignup... will match you up with local vendors with pricing you specified. I tried it and have good result as I only recieved response from vendors according to my request.
One problem I had with my wedding is that it is hard to locate vendors in most website as most likely they group by states and there are too many of them that's too far from me and I have to look at each site to figure out.
The sites I provide above have a easy to use layout to show you pictures, pricing and location in one page plus, you can send out your inquiry for matching vendor to contact you. That save me lots of time to locate the best vendors with the right price.

This site has wonderful ideas. It links you to other florists and you can look through all the bouquest with the colors you want. If you are unsure of a flower name, just print it out to hand to your florist, and they should and will know what it is. Personally for a fall wedding, I like gerbera daisies, calla lillies and roses.....Good luck and I hope you find something you like on this site....I found tons of stuff!
Reply:you can get the fall colored silk flowers most of the time becuase a lot of those colors are used in home decor, but you will have a better selection as fall approaches...with silk any flowers in your colors that are high quality will be fine, check out www.save-on-crafts.com, they have alot of really great silk flowers at good prices, I made silk topiary balls for my reception adn ordered 400 silk gerber daisies from them and was more than pleased
as far as yours, go to a florist and get her to show you some things, bring pics of what you like and she can tell you whats in it, that will be the easiest thing for you. I highly reccomend the calla lillies that are the rust color, circus roses (yellow wiht a red/orange tip) green hypericum berries, mini gerberas in orange, red alstromeria all together, it would be really pretty I promise, take those names to a florist and she could help a lot!
Reply:Peach colored roses (which are orange-ish) are quite pretty in my opinion!! I had some recently that were a dark peach color. Roses are generally used in wedding bouquets. I had daisies also in mine, but that was a summer wedding, so that won't help you.
I can't stand it when I see these beautiful brides that have decide to hold flowers with long stems hanging down. thats modern. I don't like it. I like flowers in a round bouquet or hanging down from the bouquet. Not Long Lilies or whatever they use with the green stems sticking out. Yuck. Ever see that before?
Reply:i would suggest to go to a few different florists in your area and just look through images of what other arrangements they did previously (most florists have these to give new customers an idea of how their work looks like) and then ask them what types of flowers are available during fall, that way it might be cheaper if you need lots for the wedding. Usually, I think florists may try to raise the price for "wedding bouquets" and "wedding" anything so just let them know you are interested in shopping around for a party bouquet or something.
But I do think that sunflowers are nice because they have a variety of orange, reds, and yellow or red/orange dyed daisies.for a casual look. For a more elegant look, you can choose red roses, orange roses, mums, dahlias, ranuculus in shades of red, orange, yellow and maybe some calla lilies for a bit of white. Happy Planning!
Reply:For a fall theme......I'd go with Sunflowers. They're not in just yellow, there's also burgundy, orange, etc. or Gerbers are pretty colorful.

Could someone send me flowers for my wedding anniversary!?
OUR 6TH ANNIVERSARY WAS WEDNESDAY-HE SAID HAPPY ANNIVERSARY AND THATS IT! NO KISS NO NOTHING-I TRIED TO GET HIM TO GO ON A DATE AND RIGHT NOW HE IS AT HOME DRUNK-WHAT AM I TO DO-SOMEONE SEND ME SOME FLOWERS-PAULA 22225 CENTURY DRIVE TAYLOR, MI 48180!!AND PLEASE GIVE ME SOME GOOD ADVICE!!
Could someone send me flowers for my wedding anniversary!?
I live in Australia, and if I had the money, I would certainly send you the best bunch of flowers imaginable....you deserve it. How sad that your husband has taken you for granted so much. Isnt it sad when you have so much more to give and your partner is not responding? A lot of marriages go that way, and its not until something terrible happens (like one spouse cheating) for them to realise there is a problem. But cheating is bad, no matter how horrible and neglectful a partner chooses to treat you. You are the bad one....but they forget the saying "cause and effect". I dont think anyone deliberately goes out and cheats. I think it is an accumulation of years of neglect and/or abuse. I dont think the answer is in cheating, but it certainly makes me angry when the "cheater" is accused of all sorts of things, even though the "cheater" is really the victim. I guess you can choose to be a victim and allow yourself to be neglected or you can make him wake up to himself and tell him that you are not prepared to be neglected anymore. You do have control over this situation....you have just forgotten where you left your self esteem.....take care.
Reply:This guy doesn't sound like he's worth having around. Get a lawyer before you're complaining on a 20th anniversary. Life's too short.
Reply:Congratulations on 6 years of wedded bliss (I hope).
If I could afford to I would send you 6 dozen long stemmed red roses (organic, or course) promptly.
My advice is: buy flowers for yourself whenever you feel the need and when your groom sobers up, have a chat with him regarding his inability to see what's important to YOU and promise to celebrate EVERY anniversary with some kind of celebration to mark the event: dinner, a bottle of champagne (he'd like that) and maybe some chocolate covered strawberries.
Good luck!
Reply:I'm sorry that your husband is so inconsiderate. I wanted to get my wife flowers for our anniversary, but we just didn't have the money for it, but we got to spend a nice day together for our anniversary and had a nice dinner at home.
Sorry that your husband is being so selfish and thinking only of himself. Sounds like he needs a slap of reality in the face.
Reply:Sorry to have to tell you sweetheart , the honey moon is over

This is how its going to be for you from hear on out, unless you do what I did ,,,, I THREW A BLOWN OUT ROYAL BITC* FIT If I was not happy I'd be dam if he was going to be.
I did that on our 3rd Anniversary, we had 21 anniversary's after .
Even if he stole the flowers out of my own garden I GOT FLOWERS ..lol
After he passed away is when I found out that it was my mother in law that was reminding him.
I cant send you flowers things are kind of tight right now but I'd be happy to send you flower seed with lots of love.
Reply:So what makes you think that you deserve flowers?? If you can come up with a decent answer then go get them yourself. What exactly did you get him for the anniversary?? Yeah, just what I thought, two bags of nothing. No wonder the poor guy is home drunk , you crushed him with your lack of compassion . You chicks in Taylor-Tucky are all alike.
Reply:Sorry, I don't get flowers either. Welcome to reality.
Reply:6 Years? If you don't get any response from Y/A {:-D, Have some flowers sent to HIM at his expense then take a friend to a nice resturant at HIS expense(assuming his credit card has room for it). When you get home, ask him if he enjoyed the flowers then tell him how much you enjoyed dinner. If he says anything, tell him to cry in his beer bottle.
Reply:You married him, you deal with him.
Reply:Sorry to tell you girls that but some guys buy flowers no matter how long you have been together. I do get them on anniversaries, on my birthdays, and for no occasion. There are a lot of nice guys out there, and the reality is not that guys don't buy flowers but that you didn't marry one of the ones who do!
Maybe he does other nice things that usually other guys don't do? I am sorry to hear it. So don't beat up yourself, buy flowers for yourself instead! I do sometimes that too.
Reply:i will send you some ok. and happy anniversary

If the answer is "no" you have to decide if you can put up with him or not.Sorry he was a schmuck on your anniversary.

How can I preserve Rose Petals for use at a wedding for a flower girl to throw?
These roses were from a funeral today and someone would like to preserve the petals for use in about a month for their flower girl to throw.
How can I preserve Rose Petals for use at a wedding for a flower girl to throw?
You can preserve them in a flower preservative that dries out the moisture. This product is called 'silica gel desiccant', and it is available in larger craft stores. The flowers will loose some of their color and become very fragile. There will be nothing left after they are walked on. Someone mentioned putting them in a glass bowl around a votive candle. You could place it on the table where you have your guest book. The petals would still be at the ceremony, but wouldn't be destroyed.
Reply:I have many dried rose petals from roses my husband has given me. All you have to do is separate the roses and put them in a fairly dry place. In about two weeks they will be dry enough to pull the petals off. I put mine in a bowl with a candle holder in the middle. Some of the rose petals are over 10 years old, and they are fine.
Reply:the best thing to do would be to either press them in a book and keep it there or pile them up and keep them in a water-filled vase.
Reply:PUT THEM IN THE FREEZER YOU DOPE!!(PUT PLASTIC WRAP OVER THE BOWL)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DONT PUT THEM IN A BOOK BECAUSE WHEN YOU TAKE THEM OUT THEY WILL TURN TO DUST!!!!
Reply:freeze them maybe be put them in water and then freeze them . pressing them in a book is usually a good idea to preserve flowers but only if you want them dried. that's kinda tough. I've never tried to save flowers for that long with out pressing them. good luck.

What can I carry down the aisle besides a bouquet of flowers?
I would like to do my wedding completely without flowers or plants, but my Mom thinks it would be really weird not to have a bridal bouquet. Can anybody think of a bouquet of something besides flowers that I could carry?
What can I carry down the aisle besides a bouquet of flowers?
just have someone walk you down the aisle. i guess it would look strange if you were by yourself and didn't have flowers. if you're with someone else though, NO ONE will notice if you don't have flowers, they'll be too busy looking at you.
Reply:WELL I DIDN'T WANT FLOWER FOR MY QUINCIANERA
ITS WHEN I GIRL TURN 15
I HAD THIS INSTEAD OF FLOWERS
A CRYSTAL BOUQUET
http://www.austrian-crystal.net/crystal2...
Reply:A willow wreath, a parasol, a bible, a fancy purse.
Reply:What about an heirloom handkerchief, or purse that belonged to your grandmother? something elegent?
Reply:carry a bible and a special heirloom
Reply:I don't think you can have a wedding with no flowers or plants at all. you can downsize to save money, but I think it would be hard to decorate and stuff.
You could just walk down the aisle, hands at your sides, and look up and look happy and confident and everyone will forget the flowers. But as the "flower girls" why not have some girls (if theyre young this might work the best) toss little buds of lavendar at the ends of the aisle (not at the people!). It's probably less expensive than rose buds and it smells soothing and amazing.
Reply:.How about a picture or framed pictures of loved ones who are not here physically at your wedding but are spiritually
Reply:Do you not want any flowers because of the cost, or is there some other reason? Because you can only buy a bouquet for yourself if you're just trying to save money, and a buttoniere for your groom.
Otherwise you can use silk flowers (that's not going to save you money), a bible or rosary as someone mentioned, a handkerchief, or you could carry nothing. It's unorthodox, but it's not really a big deal.
Reply:If you are religious, you could carry a rosary. For a beach wedding you could carry a beautiful sea shell adorned with ribbons for decoration. Animal lovers, could carry their miniature dog. If you have a small child or infant you could carry her. You could carry 2 single roses and hand one to your mother and one to your MIL as you get to the alter so that you will not have a bouquet to mess with.
And my favorite, is to walk down the aisle with a smile on your face! Who says you have to have a bridal boquet? Instead, walk down the aisle with a smile and your arm around whomever is walking you down the aisle. People will not notice the flowers as much as they will the smile on your face.
It will not look bad either.
Reply:A candle, a pomander (it is still flowers but in a ball shape), you could also make one with crystals, rhinestones, or fake flowers., a small satin bag, a basket with whatever you want in it, a big colorful candy lollypop (the rainbow swirly ones), a scepter or wand (you know - fairy godmother wand).
if you are religious (%26amp; christian) you could carry a bible, or rosary beads.

I need help with flowers for my wedding!?
ok heres the deal! I am getting married in November and I am not using real flowers! I want to use fake ones to decorate with so I dont waste my money! My colors are apple and Cholocate and I need help finding the right flowers to use! I was going to go to garden ridge to find them! so Please Help!
I need help with flowers for my wedding!?
You can use just about any color you want. Your bouquet does not have to be only two colors or even three. I used all colors in my wedding. As for fake flowers I would have to say the daisies, carnations and roses seem to be the ones that look the best. It also depends on what style you are doing for your bouquets. Are you having the round traditional with the plastic handle, the group with stems, or the arm bouquet. That will also help determine what kind of flowers you want to use. A lot of the craft stores have a specific area for flowers and normally have people that can help you figure out what would be best for you and your wedding. Good luck to you and congrats.
Reply:take a color swatch with you and just pick out nice looking flowers that compliment your colors. don't focus on the type of flower just nice ones. that way you can pick out ones that look real and end up with something alot nicer then if you had your mind set on a particular flower.
Reply:Mums are a great fall plant and come in a ton of colors. Have you considered using "non flowers" like twigs to match the brown? Also, sunflowers are my personal favorite if you wanted to throw some fall yellow in there!
Reply:Get silk flowers, looks real. Target stores has a nice variety. Also check out the local craft stores in your area. Good luck %26amp; congrats!
Reply:please don't use all fake flowers - why not have apples in your arangments and some occassional brown silk roses alongside some whites? use ribbons also?
Reply:get dark and light reds. whites and some maroon. neat flowers nobody really knows about.
Reply:I think a yellow, red, or white flower would look gorgeous!

Your welcome:) Report It
Reply:I might soften this color scheme. It's becoming popular to have bridesmaids wear black, but white and silver with this will look a little garish. Unless you're careful, red flowers will make it look like your prom.
Sterling roses are beautiful and are kind of a silvery lavender. Mixing this with some ivory flowers and lots of greenery would look classy. For brighter flowers, deep purple dendrobium orchids are a terrific bright purple.
Accenting your flowers with pewter napkins, ribbons, etc. instead of silver would also soften the look.
Reply:You could throw in a splash of color and do red. But, who says you have to use flowers? If it's a nighttime wedding, your bridesmaids could carry candles. If it's outdoors, they could carry parasols. Or they could use beautiful folding fans if it's inside. Have fun with it.
Reply:lillies
Reply:If you would be willing to throw some color into that...throw some deep red roses...the contrast would be beautiful. But if you are interested in keeping with the silver, white, and black theme...I would go for white roses.
Sounds very formal.
Congratulations!
Reply:What color dresses are the girls wearing? I am assuming black.
Did you by any chance see the "My Fair Brady" where they got married? She had a blackand white wedding and she used roses that were a very deep dark red, absolutely beautiful. But I would only suggest this for an evening/night wedding, those colors are too heavy for a daytime wedding.
Reply:hmmm if i were you i'd either go for some fake black silk flowers which i think would look really classy or otherwise some white lilies which would bring a bit of pink in as well i would imagine..
i dont think roses would suit it as the colours you have chosen are quite dramatic and over power the delicate flower whereas the lilies have 'sharper' petals and make more of a statement..
have a lovely wedding x
Reply:calla lillies... but i wouldn't go with black.... black is more for a funeral.
Reply:Calla lilies, gladiolas, orchids, white roses would all be really elegant, especially if left long on the stem and tied with silver and black ribbons (except gladiolas, which really don't have long stems). All but the white roses are fairly expensive, though, just to warn you. I really like the other idea about the fans, parasols, candles et all too..
Reply:Those are some beautiful classic colors so simple petite flowers would look wonderful. There are quite a few shades of pink roses that would look great with some white den. orchids, pink wax ( its a tiny waxy flower that smells amazing ) lizianthis (spelling sorry) and calla lillies. Adding in tea roses with the larger roses always look very delicate and pretty too!
Reply:you have nice colors...hmm I'd say white flowers because that's only color out of the colors you have that seems reasonable. I would go with a deep read color though and mix it with the black. I mean surround the red flowers with the black color items. Flowers wise, I love roses or carnations, but lilies may work too.best wishes!!!!!

Need craft ideas on table arrangements for wedding centerpieces. Something other than a candle with flowers.?
This is for September and I can put a candle in a holder with water or flowers but I would like something crafty and different.
Need craft ideas on table arrangements for wedding centerpieces. Something other than a candle with flowers.?
I have seen %26amp; heard about many different kinds of arrangements. You could go with edible arrangements like cookies or fruit. They are set up to make it look like flowers. You can do picture arrangements depicting your relationship. Some have done a mirror as a base, river stones %26amp; lighted tealights, its elegant %26amp; romantic. I have also seen "lollipop" trees as centerpieces. They are a small tree with a top of leaves %26amp; flowers in a round shape. Its nice %26amp; tall so ne views are blocked. There is also the fishbowl w/ goldfish or Japanese fighting fish w/ a few long stem roses in it. Rose petals with a matcing color ofconfetti sprinkleled on the tables is nice too.
Reply:My niece had beautiful arrangements on the tables. She had very tall vases and put a goldfish in the bottom of each vase. She then used orange gerber daisies coming out of the tops. Everyone loved them and she still has all the fish in an aquarium.
Reply:An ice statue of GundamWing from Endless Walts is alway good.
Reply:Do have a theme for the wedding? My wedding we did all white with very small touches of a very light pink. Use your colors the brides maids are wearing as inspiration. If they are wearing pale colors do something whimsical such as large taper candles with beautiful flowers surrounding them or hanging white lanterns.
If your colors are darker take personal things (GREAT IDEA) take silver frames and put pictures of you, your family, your significant other and their family. The guests will then want to mingle at the other tables so that they can look at all the pictures. If you put subtitles on the pictures they will really like that. :)
Remember your wedding should reflect you! It is all about the commitment you are making and the joining of your lives! Make sure it stays true to you!
Reply:Well how about decorating with something that interests both of you. A friend of mine got married and they're both into fishing so she put little plastic fish in a fish bowl with a little fishing pole sticking out if it. Then she wrote catch of the day and their names on a piece of paper and stuck it on the end of the fishing line. It was really cute. Think of something that you both like and come up with a unique centerpiece.
Reply:It will be fall - what about using pumpkins (you can get them in white if you want) and putting an arrangement of fall flowers and leaves.

fall colors would be beautiful. rich colors like gold, bright reds, yellows, purples, etc.
What colour of flowers for a wedding this october?
EVERYONE is saying fall colors, orange, red, browns..ets. My wedding is october 3rd and we are doing all black and white.. all of our flowers will be white. There is NEVER a set color. you can do anything you want.. as long as where your getting married and the reception venue is decorated to fit YOUR colors. It will look beautiful. But if you want to stay witht he fall theme go to a florist they will give you a list of the types of flowers that are IN season and colors that are IN season. It can get rather expensive if your chosing beautiful fall colored flowers tht are out of season. There are a not many flowers in bloom in october..
Reply:Yellow
Yellow was all over the spring 2008 runways, which is great news for brides. This ideal wedding color is fresh, energetic, and summery. For a day-time wedding, consider yellow and
white for your wedding colors, with yellow daisies, gingham accents, and cheery yellow ribbons tied around vases, napkins, bouquets, and waists. For an evening wedding, pair lemon yellow with chocolate brown. Or, choose a brighter yellow paired with silvery gray.
Silver
Silver dress from spring 2008
The bride who wears a metallic silver wedding dress is sure to stand out and be remembered. If you're more traditional, incorporate the silver wedding trend in other ways. Your bridesmaids could wear grey satin bridesmaids dresses, or carry bouquets of white roses mixed with eucalyptus, Artemisia Silver King and/or Dusty Miller. Decorate your reception space with silver linens, branches painted silver, and rhinestone accents. Or punch up your own look with silver heels peeking out from under your dress, and a rhinestone hairpin.
Other Bold Colors
Jewel tones are back in style! If you love rich purples, bright greens, and shocking pinks, you'll be excited by 2008 wedding trends. But stay far away from the '80s. Today's couples should look to use jewel tones sparingly, mixing brights with cream or gray, or more muted versions of the same color. Avoid the satin jewel tone bridesmaid dress – it's definitely one look she won't wear again. Instead, look for chiffon or other matte fabrics to carry off this look.
Wedding Colors 2008:
1. Burnt Orange
2. Pinks: Different Shades
3. Purples: Different Shades
4. Oranges: Different Shades
5. Combination of Oranges/Pinks
6. Combination of Pinks/Purple
Enjoy your wedding planning
Reply:Anything you want.
If you want to follow the "fall" theme ... oranges, rust red, brown fiddlehead ferns, deep foresty greens, yellow.
You could also do all whites, or pastels, or deep reds/purples, bright tropical colors ... anything you want. You're not limited by season when it comes to colors, although the season MIGHT limit your choice of flowers because you're bound by what's in bloom at the time.
What color are the bridesmaids' dresses? Do you have an overall color scheme, or are you open to multiple colors? Bring some inspiration photos (your gown, the venues, color swatches you like, jewelry, decor, etc.) to your florist, and let him/her suggest some things to you. That's their job.

What flowers go should i use for a black and white wedding?
what should i use and what should the bride's maids use?
What flowers go should i use for a black and white wedding?
I personally think that a light pink color would look beautiful for your bridesmaids. Perhaps you could use roses or some tulips...
For you, I would do white calla lilies wrapped in black ribbon/fabric. Those are very lovely and elegant. ?
Reply:When i get married i want a black and white wedding too, it will look so classy and simple. Yeah, it doesnt seem like anyone is paying attention to the question. I want all white flowers, with black ribbon to tie them together, good flower options could be:
Sweet Peas
Hollyhock
Zinnia
Monkey Flower
Petunia
Dahlia
Moss Rose
Cosmos
Bunny Tails
Pampas Grass
Straw Flower
Calla Lily
Caladuim
Tuberose
Amaryllis
Rose
Pansy
Carnation
Gladiolas
Tulips
Bachelor Buttons
Dusty Miller (Silver)
Alyssum
Canterbury Belles
Lily of the Valley
Poinsettia
Iris
Morning glory
Daisy
Chrysanthemums
Almond
Geraniums
Dogwood
Crabapple
Asters
Clover
Clematis
Silver Lace
Magnolia
Snowball
Flamingo Flower
Butterfly Bush
Hydrangea
Celosia
Mock Orange
Rose of Sharon
Ornamental Pear
Purple Leaf Plum
Nicotiana
As for the bridesmaids, just have your maid of honor carry a medium size version of your bouquet, and the other girls slightly smaller than that...all with the black ribbon. I think that if you ask your florist she can add small little black embellishments into the flowers like beads if you like, but that may get costly.
Reply:Whoa! When you say, "black and white" and which flowers, I think people assume COLOR is what you're looking for, not flower type. So before you go biting anyone's head off, clarify your own questions.
Type of flower is completely a personal choice. I hate roses, so wouldn't use those. But pretty much any flower can be dyed any color, so go with a color you like and pick a cheap, durable flower that is in season that YOU like.
(though I admit the "model" answer was kinda wierd...)
Reply:we are having a black pink and white wedding this summer. i LOVE black weddings!!! they are so elegant and beautiful!!!!
i would use roses because i think they are beautiful and work best with these colors. I would do fresh flowers also and not silks. if you use red i would do the blood red rose which is a darker red or pink roses. dont have the bridesmaids with white roses. if you chose to do white, keep the white roses for you.

What kinds of flowers do YOU like and what is your budget?
Obviously, you could go with anything.....tulips, roses, calla lillies, gerbera daisies, hydgrangeas. Really, any type of flower.
If you want a thought/ideaon color: I LOVE the contrast.....say, the girls with WHITE flowers (looks nice against the black dresses) and you with various shades of white...or if you wanted to add in some color....like pink OR red. That would look nice.
If you want the girls to have color: pink or red would be my choice for color against the black dress....especially pink. Then, you could do the traditional white bouquet, or, again , add in some soft (or bold!) color.
Reply:Just went to the florist last night... I'm using all red roses. My bouquet is two dozen red roses, and my one bridesmaid is one dozen red roses. I love the red/peach roses mixed in, but I'm not doing it for my wedding.
Also, roses are EXPENSIVE! To cut down costs, use gerbera daisies instead.
Reply:i actually love the idea of a black and white wedding, Why not white roses, with a few red roses? its simple, chic, classic, and i would arrange them in a sphere-shape. My family owns a wedding facility- lol...
Reply:Either red and white roses or another vibrant color like deep pinks and fushias.
Reply:Red or pink would pop nicely.
You can do just about anything though. Just stick with lights %26amp; brights no dark colors.
Reply:How about a burnt orange/rust red color roses? Instead of plain red roses like everyone uses.
Reply:red roses ...the contrast would be beautiful
Reply:I think you should have deep red and the bridesmaids could have white, cream or peach colored roses!

Is there any good website for identifying flowers and looking at virtual bouquets?
I need to pick out flowers for a wedding, but I am not familiar with types of flowers and would love to look at a website that showed me pictures of individual flowers and let me put together my own virtual bouquets. If anyone knows of any that would be great! Thank you

Would it be tacky to have the flower girls at my wedding throw bran muffins rather than flowers?
all depends on the wedding theme hun, if its traditional than i wouldnt, if its a little unusual than it works. besides, its your day and if anyone makes fun of you for it, throw um out!
Would it be tacky to have the flower girls at my wedding throw bran muffins rather than flowers?
absoultly people often find bran muffins unattractive even though it would be cheaper to go with the bran muffins stick with flower petals you can buy fake ones at walmart for like three dollars so actulley the flowers would be cheaper.
Reply:no way.... they are fun AND economical! after all, you wouldn't have to serve dinner and get straight to the bar ***ahem*** dance!!!
:D
Reply:not if you're from alabama, arkansas, mississippi etc... Other refined folks wouldnt do that.... unless we owned a bakery, then it MIGHT be cute
Reply:I would say yes but my friend is planning on having the flower girl throw out cookies so bran muffins arent so horrible

Is fake flowers pretty for a wedding?
i have found some really nice artificial flowers. I don't care what anyone else says about them, i love them. Plus i bought my whole wedding party's flowers for $120. I could not have got the real thing at that price and i am on a tight budget.
Its only flowers, its not like your serving you guests fake food!!!
Reply:They can be.
My friend's mom is really good at silk floral arrangements so she did the garlands for the tables, the gazebo arch, the entryway, etc. in artificial flowers. They were beautiful and she was able to do them in advance since they weren't fresh. She also used artificial flowers in the table centerpieces.
All of the bouquets and corsages were made from natural flowers.
It was VERY pretty. Most of the centerpieces went home with reception guests.

Depends on the quality of the flowers used. I know a local florist who makes silk flowers look real. Her bouquets and arrangements are exquisite. Her work is absolutely beautiful at weddings.
I think silk flowers are good for several reasons. They can be picked up early (if for example, you are taking them to a destination wedding). They are wonderful if bride, groom, or an attendant is allergic to real flowers. Sometimes you can find them at very reasonable prices, like at the site above.
They are definitely an option to be considered.
Reply:I got married in the middle of winter and had silk flowers. I used them for the cake topper too.
They didn't wilt. I got any flower I wanted. The florist did it up way ahead of my wedding and I got to see it and was able to "tweak" it to just how I wanted it. After wards I had my bridal bouquet turn into a centerpiece for my house.
Reply:Are fake flowers pretty for a wedding? Hmmm... i would think not. Just because they are lifeless they just seem so trashy-- although I guess you can get some really pretty ones that would be alright! What are you going to do with all the left over flowers-- real flowers are worth the money because they smell nice and look nice and you dont have to find a place to store them the rest of your life! :)
Reply:It depends if they are done nicely. Some brides do prefer silks either for financial reasons, wanting them to be done early, or to keep them. That is their choice.
I prefer real flowers, but if a bride wants to use silks, I encourage them to just do 1 type of flower (say roses). I don't like the big huge bouquets with 6 or 7 different fake flowers. It really stands out to me.
But again...everyone is different.
Reply:I am going against the grain here......I am using small fake (pretty) arrangments on some of the tables at the reception. For the other tables, and I doing tall vases with rock and candels maybe. YES, real ones are preferred, but I am too practical, and they will go in the trash....plus, I would rather get a massage with my hubby at the honeymoon, then spemd money on real flowers. WHO CARES what everyone esle thinks
good luck

I guess it depends on what sort of fake flowers it is - there are some really cheap ones that look very tacky, but the silk ones I had looked very real and pretty.
Reply:Fake flowers are beautiful for a wedding!
My fiance and I are having all silk flowers for our wedding in July. The silk flowers look so beautiful......They look just as nice as "real" flowers, plus you can keep them forever and they will never die.
Reply:Fake is fake. Real flowers have a fragrance and a essence that will enhance the atmosphere of joy and love. There is no duplication to this from fake flowers.
Reply:no! they are boring, not pretty and they are fake. real flowes are really not that expensive if you stay away from calla lillies.
Reply:i would definitely not do fake flowers for a wedding they just make it seem so tacky
real flower will make it elegant and will set the mood
Reply:No, it tends to look too tacky- kind of like a casino, las vegas style informal wedding!
Reply:Real flowers are better; smell; look; and fake flowers look too tacky.

I need names of nice wedding florists in Key West, please help!?
I'm looking for florists with good websites to browse wedding flowers, and contact for quotes. I've only found two: Mamaflowers and Loveinbloom. Thanks!!
I need names of nice wedding florists in Key West, please help!?
If you have a location for your wedding, ask them for references. They can usually provide you a list. Also you can ask around town to see who another couple used when getting married. If all else fails, Google!
Hope this helped.

Most important item in wedding budget? Ex: photos, flowers, etc.?
The venue and the decorations- Since how you decorate will depend a lot on where your ceremony and reception are held, these two things need to be considered together, for example, if you've chosen your local botanical gardens as your site, you won't need much in the way of flowers and ribbons but if you've hired the local VFW hall, your decorating costs will be a bit more... and the only thing more important than than having the location right is choosing the right spouse.
Most important item in wedding budget? Ex: photos, flowers, etc.?
Reception, it's gonna be about 50% of your budget anyway so may as well make sure it is good! Nice food and drink, good decorations and setting.
Reply:Aside from the ceremony!!!!
Hosting your guests to a wonderful dinner, great music, and a full open bar!
Reply:IMO, its the location and food. You dont need to add much if the location is already beautiful. And people always notice the food %26amp; drink- its what keeps the party moving!
After that, music and photography.
Reply:1.photos and video - it's the only thing you have to remember your special day.
2.3.food and dress
people will remember the food and of course you want to be the most beautiful bride ever so splurge and get the dress you LOVE!

In that order. I completly agree with melofus, my priority is to show my guests a good time; that's my priority. I will only give the best for the best.

I have to say, I think the photos are also super important, but my fiance is a photographer, so we won't have that as an expense--one of his photographers will be doing the work.
Reply:Me and my sweetie decided there were two important things for us. First Photo and Video. They will be the one thing you have for the rest of you life to remember your wedding day.
Second was the place. We wanted to get married on the beach at a hotel that took care of almost everything for us. That is the two things we spent the most on.
Best wishes in planning your special day.
Reply:As for me I say 1. would be photography %26amp; videography to make sure my once in a life time wedding day be save to see it again. 2. DJ to keep the guests enjoying the dance floor. 3. food to keep the guest talking how great the food was. 4. how you look in your wedding dress for the guests to say wow! she looks pretty.
Reply:Personally I would say the photos and/or video of the wedding. In 25 years you'll have forgotten most of the ceremony and these will help you recapture the feelings of that day.
After that, it depends a lot on you. For my wife, who has long hair that she's quite proud of, it was her hair. You need to ask yourself how you'd feel if one aspect of the wedding got royally screwed up. If they dropped the cake, how would that make you feel? Okay, now, if the band didn't show up, how about that? If your dress was the wrong size? Whichever gives you the worst reaction, that's the one to aim for first.
Reply:Photos and video. I enjoy looking back at the professional photos. I had family make videos of the wedding. Those were good since people were at ease being on camera with family.
Some of the best photos were ones from my guests! So be sure to ask for copies of pictures or put out disposible cameras on the tables.
Reply:For me, it is the photos. I really want to have nice pictures to look back and remember my wedding day. Second on my list was the wedding dress.

Reply:Our biggest expense was the DJ, then the photographer, then food. I don't regret spending the most on the DJ because he completely made the reception a huge hit. Practically everyone danced all night. Photographer was great too but I also have a ton of pictures from relatives. Food was still delicious even though we didn't pay an arm and leg for it.

DIY flowers arrangement for wedding in April. Does anyone know where to get good deal wholesale/bulk flowers?
CONGRATS!! You may want to check your local florist and see if they sale wholesale, if not try searching the web for "wholesale flowers" If you type in wedding or bridal the price tends to go way up. We are doing our flowers ourselves (april wedding also) and our local florist does sale wholesale..
DIY flowers arrangement for wedding in April. Does anyone know where to get good deal wholesale/bulk flowers?
COSCO, OR SAMS CLUB. GOOD LUCK.
Reply:If you go with real flowers, I would suggest going through a wholesaler like Costco or Sam's Club. I bought my flowers through them and paid $12.99 per 2 dozen roses. The service was great and the flowers were gorgeous. I picked them up 3 days before the wedding and ordered them medium tight. I had plenty of time to arrange all the centerpieces and bought vases at Michaels for $3 each. For the church, I used pew cones from www.pewcones.com and filled them with the flowers. When I asked a florist how much she would charged for a similar centerpiece, she said $75 each and I spent under $20 each. The knot.com also has some great pictures and ideas. Hope this helps!
Reply:check you paper for fliers from craft stores like Micahels, A.C. Moore, or Joann's. they are inexpensive, and you can get coupons. go with your bridesmaids and some other people and you can each use a coupon and get them for even less!!
Reply:I've heard that Publix has wholesale prices on flowers and they have special wedding pacakes for DIY bouquets.
Reply:If you live near a Hobby Lobby or Michaels, you should be able to find inexpensive silk flowers. Matter of fact, this week (02/05-02/10) Hobby Lobby's silk floral stems and floral bushes are 50% off. That's a really good deal. You can probably spend $5-10 per bridesmaid bouquet--$15-20 on your bouquet, etc. Best wishes!
Reply:try a flea market or go to a store called micheals, they have good bulk flowers also go to the dollare stores they always have good stuff
Reply:Find out if there are any stores in your area for vendors. People who own their own business are the only people who have access to these stores. The prices are cheaper because it is for a business. If you have a store for vendors, chances are you know at least one person who has a vendor's license (I found out I knew about 15!) They can take you in as a guest and they sell their flowers there for alot cheaper than regular craft stores! Good luck!
Reply:Costco or Sam's Club. I bought mine on the Internet from Sam's Club. They were gorgeous. I bought 100 red roses and 500 Gerber daisies. The have a big assortment of flowers and they will deliver when you need them to. It took me and 5 other people 3 hours to make 10 bouquets and 8 corsages. Good luck!

Reply:ew, carnations. I agree, in moderation they are GREAT, but a solid bouquet of um....ugh! Unfortunatly, due to valentines, all flowers are gonna be more expensive that time of year....prices go up drastically in between valentines and mothers day, its the biggest flower time of the year! Roses are moderately priced, tulips may be ok, shasta daisies, some carnations (the mini ones are pretty cute!) alstromeria, buttons, etc are all good inexpensive as possible flowers. also, greenery is always a good way to take up space without spending a fortune and its always a pretty compliment. the ones I have named are always in season! I would defiently avoid things like calla lilies that are AT LEAST $10 per stem when not in the hot season, hydrangeas, gardenias, stepahanotis, peonies, etc....those are always expensive normally, but skyrocket that time of year!
Reply:roses and gerbera daisies
Reply:Carnations are a good buy in any month! And you can have them "tipped" or painted! For instance, let's say your wedding colors are pink and navy blue. You can have pink carnations tipped in dark blue. They fill out too, so you don't have to buy as many to have a full looking bouquet! :)
Good luck! :)
Reply:Find out what can be locally grown in your area. If the weather is too cold; consider decorating w/pointsetta. They come in various colors. Roses can be expensive and carnations are not quite "weddingish". Some spring flowers could also be forced to bloom which may not be too expensive - tulips, daffadills.
Reply:yes, i agree..carnations are the new roses for 2007-08. If you gather them together(kinda like a ball)about 5 or 7 with some seeded eucalyptus, and babybreath, they make a great centerpeice. Large ones together almost look like peonies, and they're expensive!Well, good luck!
Reply:Carnations are always nice and are cheep and come in a wide color selection. They are cheep but look pretty too!

Reply:Don't underestimate the beauty of carnations. They are inexpensive and can be gorgeous in a bouquet or centerpiece.
Reply:Roses and orchids are year round. How about those Amaryllis plants? I had them in a long clear vase and cut in an arrangement for the seating cards. They're amazing...
How about less flowers but in a scultural arrangement, this designer Jeff Leatham drowns flowers and uses less flowers but in an interesting way. He'll take cala lillies and submerged them in water

Does anyone know where I can buy cheap flowers for a wedding?
In the Vancouver, BC area?
Does anyone know where I can buy cheap flowers for a wedding?
I've heard this is a good website - http://www.fiftyflowers.com/
also I would check out Sam's %26amp; CostCo too
Reply:There are ways to get round flowers. Depending on when/where you are getting married there will be flowers already there.
Such as around easter and christmas time in churches. They will often leave the flowers up for you if you ask them.
If not then you could avoid buying flowers in feb as they'll be expensive because of valentine's day...
Other than that, I think it'd be a case of shopping around.
Congrats!
Reply:If you are ok with fake flowers, I'm getting my flowers for my wedding at Michaels. Hobby Lobby might also have some silk flowers that you might like, neither of them are too expensive. I have looked at Wal-Mart as well, but they didn't have the exact colors that i was looking for, although they had a lot of nice silk flowers.
Reply:You can also check out www.BeeBows.Net. They have great flowers.
Reply:I got some gorgeous tulips from www.growingtulips.com. I recently found out that they no longer ship to the US but you might be ok. You can send them an email.
Reply:TRY YOUR LOCAL WALMART THEY USUALLY HAVE VERY CHEAP PRICES OR YOU CAN GO TO YOUR LOCAL FLORIST THEY GET RID OF THERE FLOWERS THAT DONT LOOK EXCATLLY PERFECT THEY JUST THROW THEM AWAY BUT THEY WILL SELL THEM TO YOU FOR A CHEAP PRICE!I KNOW YOU WOULD THINK IF THEY WERE JUST GONNA THROW THEM AWAY THEY WOULD JUST GIVE THEM TO YOU BUT THEY ARE OUT TO MAKE MONEY ANY WAY POSSIBLE! YOU COULD GO THERE AND ASK THEM IF THEY HAVE ANY DAY OLD FLOWERS IS WHAT I CALL THEM AND TELL THEM YOU ARE ON A BUDGET AND MAYBE THEY WILL WORK WITH YOU GOOD LUCK!
Reply:The flowers that I wanted for my wedding were upward of $5000 at a floral shop, now I am ordering them wholesale from www.freshroses.com and having a friend arrange them for us. We will have centerpieces with 2 dozen longstem roses on 22 tables and all other flowers for $900 including the supplies!! Also, check out www.costco.com they have a lot of wedding packages. Both places deliever anywhere in the US. Good luck!

Suggestions for centerpieces (using minimal amount of flowers) at upscale wedding cocktail reception?
I had round vases, sitting on round mirrors, added colored water, put in floating candles and then put 2 flower heads diagonally across from each other on the mirror. Very simple, but very elegant.
Suggestions for centerpieces (using minimal amount of flowers) at upscale wedding cocktail reception?
My wedding is in March and I am doing a tall vase with 4 cala lilies in each and 2 candles on each side. But I really like this: Ivy wraped around a larger candle holder. It is hard to explain, but it looks really elegant.
Reply:Why don't you do something with candles. Depending when your wedding is you could always use a pedestal with a bowl that has floating cansles and out seashells, glass bubbles or something themed around the ourside. Or jsut use s anice candelabra.
Reply:Who needs flowers?!?! Have a small cake made for each table the mimics the one you and your fiance are going to cut...using those as centerpieces will break the ice for guests and get them talking. Talk to your bakery and see if you can have a "mock cake" made...if your heart is set on 5 tiers, they can make the first 4 out of foam and cover it in fondant to make it look like cake. The top tier is the one you will cut and the only one edible. That way you won't have an overabundance of cake. and you won't have to pay a rediculous amount for everything...
Reply:Use candle trees....they are these wire trees with candle holders on the end of each branch. then just use a vine to wrap the bottom and you are all set....a word of advice....use Unscented candles though...
Reply:well, for my sisters wedding they used these tall, clear, cyllinder-like vases, with 3 long stem large white calla lilies.
it was so beautiful and elegant. and very simple.
Reply:Huge bowls of floating candles. Or a big display of those church candles, in varying sizes, the candles can be decorated with strings of beads.
Reply:Candelabra's look beautiful elegant and romantic.
Reply:I've seen some centerpieces that were gorgeous using tall tower vases and ostrich plumes. Check on theknot - lots of people have pictures of them in their bios. I've also seen them with palm fronds, which is neat too. The taller arrangements give more of a luxe feel, especially if you use lighting in the vases.
Reply:I would suggest mixing real with artificial if you are looking to cut down on cost. Sometimes the most beautiful centerpieces are the small ones! Check out :
http://www.cheap-chic-weddings.com/weddi...
Reply:a decorated bottle of champagne that they can enjoy during the wedding or take home, but my favorite (That no one else likes, hmmmm) is a white fantail goldfish or betta in a bubble bowl with clear pebbles at the base.
Reply:if you don't want to use candles, you could use more simple vases that hold a single flower with some greens. Using a couple of those together can look nice. Also You could do a candle and use frames (2-6)depending on size of table and frame, with pictures of you and your spouse. there are a lot of options besides flowers. Even if you did complete arrangments using different types of greens.
Reply:Rose petals with color themed candles would be affordable and beautiful.
Reply:Mint Julep cups can add elegance to any occasion and you can use just about anything for filler around the flowers.

In a wedding ceremony, can the ring bearer and flower girl walk down the aisle before the bridesmaides?
Have you seen a wedding where the flower girl and/or ring bearer walked down the aisle before the bridesmaides? I am just wondering if this is a reasonable order or if it is standard that the ring bearer and flower girl walk down just before the bride.
Thanks
In a wedding ceremony, can the ring bearer and flower girl walk down the aisle before the bridesmaides?
I have been to a wedding where the flower girl and ring bearer were the first to walk down the aisle. It was cute but the kids were alone once they reached the front and had no idea what to do.
Reply:they can walk in any order you like...but traditionally, the flower girl is meant to lay flowers down for you (the bride) to walk on...not the bridesmaids. it's also easiest for them to see people to walk towards and you the bride can tell them exactly what to do right before you walk.
Reply:The way i see it, its your wedding and its all in how you invision it. If you want the flower girl and ring bearer to walk down before the bridesmaids, then let them.
It is customary to have them walk down right before the bride because the flowers are supposed to be for the bride. But its your wedding and you should do what makes you happy!
Reply:If they can walk without the bridesmaids holding their hand then it is case of whatever you want!
Reply:I've only seen them walk down before the bride.. I think it's better that way not only because it's tradition but I don't think they'll be as scared.. They'll see familiar faces ahead..
Reply:the whole purpose of the flowergirl is to drop the petals for the bride to step on, but if you want them to walk down the aisle first, go for it. It's your wedding. Just make sure you tell the kids what they are supposed to do when they get down to the front of the church.
Reply:in all the weddings Ive seen, they walk down before the bridesmaids
Reply:We had ours walk right before me. This way thy were able to see where the other "big" people walked and how they did it. That way all we had to say was "follow them".

New Orleans courtyard wedding, need ideas. Any advice, small intimate family & friends, maximum 60 guest?
will be in mid august maybe as late as early september. Looking for the best place for a courtyard wedding, good accomodation in the quarter, need ideas for photographer, music, flowers, wedding consultant. trying to plan this in 5 months or less. any advise grreatly appreciated
New Orleans courtyard wedding, need ideas. Any advice, small intimate family %26amp; friends, maximum 60 guest?
The Omni Royal Orleans hotel has interior courtyards that work really well for a wedding + reception the size of the one you are planning. The courtyards also have adjacent banquet rooms (French doors to the courtyard) in case of rain.
The hotel can also provide parking, a location for the rehearsal dinner, and accommodations for out-of town guests.
The hotel's sales manager (Julie) can help with all the other arrangements: 504-529-5333
Note that August/early September is low season in New Orleans and you should be able to get a good deal from the hotel.
Also consider re-posting your question in the New Orleans section of the Travel category to get more responses from locals.
Best wishes!

Where can i buy flowers for my wedding cake online?
Try pro Flowers.com .Real flowers are very pretty as an addition on a wedding cake.We put real ones around my daughters cake even though most one on her cake were gum paste.Fresh ones went around the silver punch bowl as well.

Reply:I would recommend going through your florist, who is providing flowers for your wedding. You might be able to get a good deal on them since everything else is coming from the same place. You can also ask them about pesticides and poisonous plant varieties.
Reply:www.proflowers.com has flowers available for weddings. I was looking there for a bit for my wedding. I've ordered flowers from proflowers as gifts and received them too - the flowers have always been a really nice quality. When I emailed to inquire about the flowers for a wedding, I actually got a phone call from a rep and she said she would be my personal rep through the whole process if I chose to go with them. If I remember correctly, the prices were good too.
But if you didn't want to get a bunch of boquets, you can order like one bunch (not from the wedding section) and have them delivered the day before if you want.....The delivery dates and times have, in my experience, been right on time.

Reply:There is a place called immortalfloral.com and they have real flowers that are waxed. they have packages that you can buy for your cake (all different, depending on the size cake) you might check that out! Its pretty neat!
Reply:well I don't know if they don't have pesticides, but www.costco.com %26amp; www.samsclub.com have insane prices on flowers. I think Sams is $86 for 125 roses.
You could separate the petals and wash them in an organic fruit and veggie wash to get all the pesticides off if you want.

But if you didn't want to get a bunch of boquets, you can order like one bunch (not from the wedding section) and have them delivered the day before if you want.....The delivery dates and times have, in my experience, been right on time.

I've always gotten good deals from them.
Reply:eww real flowers on a wedding cake... so tacky!

In a Catholic wedding, who usually offers the Blessed Mother flowers?
Is it the bride, the brides mother, etc? Or do i just pick someone to give flowers to her.
In a Catholic wedding, who usually offers the Blessed Mother flowers?
the bride does it and is usually escorted by someone (maid of honor)...i don't think the mom and bride should do this together since the bride has already been "given away" (although it's a nice thing to do)...the bride and groom going together is very nice and symbolic, but i think this part of the ceremony is meant for the future wife and mother to take a moment and pray to the Virgin Mary for guidance, etc.
Reply:Bride and bride's mother both can do it, or just the bride, or the bride and whomever or just even the flowergirl.
Reply:I've seen the couple do it together.
Reply:The bride and groom do it together.
Reply:The bride.
Reply:My friend was recently married and both she and her groom walked over to the statue with flowers. During this time, another of our friends sang. They had thought about having their mothers accompany them as well, but in the end decided on just the two of them.
It's your wedding. You can have it anyway that you want it to be - there is no right or wrong. You could have song sang, music played, or a poem/hymn read during this time. It's your choice because its your day =) Enjoy!
Reply:I have only seen it with both the bride and groom.
Reply:I went to one recently were the bride and groom did and then their parents did.....
Reply:Usually its the bride.
I am getting married in March and I will offer the flowers while being escorted by the groom. My uncle (who has a phenomenal voice) will be singing the Ave Maria.
Reply:we did the bride and groom. My husband and I went up and prayed w/her and walked over to her during the time when the father said it was time to do so....
She's our Blessed Mother... I'm sure that's appropriate....
My brother and sis in law did the same... Congratulations
Reply:for me, it will be most appropriate if both parties, the bride and the groom offers the flowers. so both can have Blessed Mother's blessing, and while offering, both can say their little prayers to start their married life praying together...why ask someone to do the offering if the celebration really refer to your own special occasion? i think, it is best, like a respect to the lady of the house....
Reply:There's no set rules as to exactly who leaves flowers for the Blessed Virgin. Often times it is the Bride who leaves her bouquet, but anyone can do it.
Reply:The bride and groom.
Reply:The bride does it. She can be escorted by someone...I had my sister (maid of honor) go with me to do it.
Reply:I'm Catholic and just got married in the church.
My husband and I gave the bouquet to the Blessed Mother.
I thought it was suppose to be the bride %26amp; groom because you are asking for he blessing in having children and taking care of them.
Just a suggestion, when we were offering the Blessed Mother the bouquet, our singer sang Ava Maria.

What would you call a boy who sprinkles the flower petals up the aisle at my wedding? Not flower girl.?
I agree with Mrs. Belvins to be she is right about that. I think you should do whatever you feel like don't worry about what other people say. The world is changing and so are traditions.
Good Luck!

You could call him a petal pusher. That is what everyone is called when working on the Rose Parade floats in Pasadena. Nothing original but it could work.

Reply:That is correct. Furthermore, the idea of bridesmaids is pagan in origin. They were supposed to shield the bride from evil spirits who might seek to harm her on her wedding day. I believe there was some significance to flower girl role as well. yet, JWs use all of these traditions in their marriage ceremonies while, at the same time, condemning people for having Christmas trees. Go figure.
What always gets me is that they are always so condemning of "pagan" origins of everything, when the WT org. is so rooted in occult origins, that it isn't even funny!
Please share with those of us who don't know about the pagan origins of the funeral-related things you mentioned.

If we were preventing the body from decaying, then it would be embalming the dead.

What kind of flowers did you have in your wedding?
I had red roses since it was Valentine's Day
What kind of flowers did you have in your wedding?
Roses and orchids.
Reply:no flowers at any wedding. I was married in county courthouses all 4 times. But for the first, I wanted lilacs, ( had the wedding in the basement, in OCt. No lilac in sight!) for the second, wanted black roses, I got married to a biker, and again, in the courthouse, and no flowers, and for the third, I had a fake flower from the secretarie's desk, for the fourth, ( my current) I had a real, pink rose, and we bought it in a mini mart, and it was the last one they had that day.
Reply:Red Roses and stefanotis for me, white roses for my girls and red roses on the tables and cake.
Reply:Our colours for a July wedding were pink, lilac, yellow, and light teal, so we went with mixed flowers. Mine was a European handtied bouquet of a variety of flowers and colours - some roses, stargazer lily, carns, alstromeria, etc., and the bridesmaids had smaller versions. Guys boutonnieres were mini carns.
Reply:All roses. They are my favorite and turned out they were less expensive than many of the other options.

I'm a floral designer and can tell you that for some reason calla lilies are what everyone is requesting this year. To be honest, they are not as nice as some other options, and they are one of the priciest flowers you can get. I just dont' get the attraction to calla lilies, but it isn't my choice if I'm just designing them and consulting with the bride. I did a wedding recently though that was actually very pretty. All of the table arrangements were done in fall shades with 3 cream calla lilies in the center of low bowls. I used oncydium orchids, dark red gerber daisies, hypericum (looks like a red berry), red spray roses, orange lilies and orange alstromeria (another user listed them as peruvian lilies, which is a garden name for what a florist calls alstromeria). A very nice combination, even considering I'm not a fan of the callas :)
