What flowers are in season in August for a wedding in Italy?

I am getting married mid August 2008 on the border of umbria and tuscany. Please can you tell me what kind of flowers I can expect to be in season? Thanks x

It is difficult to tell, if you buy locally grown, you will only have what is currently available. Using a florist will be better as they source flowers from a wide region and often overseas. Many flowers for the florist trade are grown `out of season` under controlled conditions, giving us (as example) Roses all year round. You should certainly find Carnations and Freesias, the latter being my favourite fragrant bloom. Pretty and appealing is often better than flamboyant and forgettable. Good luck.
