Are roses expensive flowers to use for the main flower of a wedding?

No. Roses are actually one of the least expensive flowers you can get, unless you get married around Valentine's Day or Mother's Day when all flowers jump in price. Callas, orchids, etc are expensive year round.

Are roses expensive flowers to use for the main flower of a wedding?
Yes, they can be. The good thing is that roses are generally the same price all year long because they are readily available all year long. I would work on finding a florist that can give you a good price. You might also consider working in a less expensive flower to reduce the cost some, but still be able to use roses.
Reply:Most likely, yes. Orchids, which are almost as desirable, are probably more expensive. If you are getting married, I recommend splurging a little for the roses if that's what you really want. But if the budget is REALLY an issue, try a cheaper alternative, such as carnations... they're really quite beautiful, and MUCH cheaper.
Reply:I don't tihnk they are. I am having roses. My bouquet is hand tied red roses with diamante £60 and my bridesmaids is a smaller version but white roses (they are wearing claret dresses) £25. I am not having flowers at the wedding due to a tight budget and I think it is a shame that they get disguarded afterwards. Grooms' party's button holes £5 each
Reply:Roses are actually cheaper, apart from around occasions, such as Easter, mother's day, valentines, Christmas etc. Seasonal flowers are most expensive. Roses mixed with another flower which is also available all year round, would be less expensive than seasonal flowers.
Reply:i think its depends on how much you want to spend and budget of course...im doing my own flowers with roses, so cost would be less.

Reply:Yes, they can be, also depends on the time of year, especially in the spring. With Valentines day and mothers day, it can be very pricey.
Reply:Yep. Especially since they're the most desirable common flower in general.

Don't hear much about people gushing over receiving a carnation much.
Reply:They sure are but see your florists she may be able to do a lovely bouquet using roses %26amp; another flower like lillies for example this way it wont be as expensive cause its not all one main flower.
Reply:roses can be rally expensive but if you get a florist that will do them cheaper for the more you buy you will grab yourself a bargain
Reply:Yep they are and I pearsonally find it rediculous.
Reply:Yee i rekon,
