Does anybody know if calla lilies are in bloom in the fall and if not what flowers are in bloom for a wedding?

my sister n law and brother in law are getting married in november and she is in love with calla lilies but we dont know if they are in bloom during the fall. so if anyone can help, we would really appreciate it.

As with all flowers, they are in bloom - somewhere !!!

And your local florist can get them for you.

You have plenty of time just contact a florist now and tell them the date so they will have plenty of time to special order the color you, and/or your sister wants
Reply:Your sister-in-law should go to a florist as soon as she can. The florist will be able to help her determine what flowers go well with calla lilies in the fall. The fall colors are beautiful, bright and bold and calla lilies are one of the flowers that are sought after for weddings so they are made available anytime of the year. There are several nurseries in California that grow them. They have to be ordered way in advance if it is in the fall. Calla lilies are in season during spring and should be easier and cheaper to get.; they'll be more expensive during the off-season.
Reply:Here in southern California my Callas are underground %26amp; entirely dormant during the hottest months in the summer. They usually have starting growing and even blooming by mid-winter ~ a bit later if we have a cold spell.



A good florist would surely should be able to locate some for you. Most commercially produced flowers are grown in greenhouses and can be "fine tuned" to produce blooms at anytime of the year.
Reply:November through May calla lilies are in season in South America and shipped here regularly. Any reputable florist in your area should be able to supply them easily.



There are also wholesalers on the web that supply them for weddings, but I do not have first hand knowledge of any.

Reply:You can find calla lilies anytime of the year, but they'll be imported at that time, and more expensive... and be sure that you order them well in advance! ..... Chrysanthemums are definitely in bloom then; and poinsettias will be coming out too ... Roses and orchids are always available from florists......
