I am having a hard time trying to incorporate that color into the flowers. any suggestions?
I am planning a wedding in June. My wedding color is robin's egg blue. What flowers should i use?
I would suggest trying to find closely colored either "bachelors buttons" - very common in blue shades at that time of year, and also for a filler flower ( like babies breath is used) would be forget-me nots- they are tiny but very close to your color. you might have to find a native plant/ local grower or ask at your florist if they have any local growers who could provide these for you. or plant yourself, bachelor buttons are EASY. there are other too, i just cant think of them now. keep asking around. look at some seed catalogs online etc for ideas.
Also, try finding ribbon or the tulle netting to use that is close to your color and have tiny bows or fluffs ( the florist will know what i mean) interdispersed with the off white or cream or white flowers. Ribbon can really pull it together. check stores like hobby lobby for ideas, florist should be able to show you color swatches of available ribbon from a catalog.
at last resort, you know florists can dye by soaking in colored water to wick up into the flower or spray flowers any color you want. the ones that suck up the color actually dont look too bad.
Reply:I would suggest a contrasting color so the flowers will stand out. Violet would be my first choice, followed by soft yellow, and peachy-orange. Have your florist show you flowers in these colors and hold next to a swatch of your blue. For some reason I'm picturing white roses with violet freesia. Good luck!
Reply:check out the vast selection of blue iris.
Reply:are you totally against cream or ivory or off white or eggshell or whatever you want to call it?
Reply:take your fave white flowers and have them dyed the same hue as your wedding color (:
Reply:Blue orchids
Reply:my suggestion to you, if you can find any, are bluebells but depending on where your from it may be difficult to find them....im from north western colorado so they are everywhere, but they would be perfect if you could find any.
